What is your character name in New World: Kill Kupo
What server/world did you experience your issue on: Orun
Describe the issue you are experiencing: I stun an opponent using War Hammer or sword and shield wearing heavy armor and 300 constitution (Extra 20% duration for each). Then some fire staff guy shooting light attacks grazes the guy I stunned and he immediately rolls away. Essentially negating whatever benefits the heavy armor provides.
Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug
(if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: I’m not able to capitalize on successful stuns, and results in the target rolling away
(if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: No
(if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced:
What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Either use shockwave with a war hammer or bash with sword and shield, and have some mage turd light attack right afterward and watch the stun not matter.
Suggestion: Allow heavy armor/300 con to fully use the full duration of a stun to be able to damage the entire duration of the stun without it clearing on damage. This bug has been in the game for far too long, and if you’re going to have the perk of heavy armor being increased stun duration, I should be able to stun opponents for full duration to equalize against the squirrely nature the roots/slows/damage light armor provides. As it stands, the game is bias against heavy armor/300 con builds. You already have the diminishing returns and free roll after 3 stuns, that should be enough without the ‘get out of jail free’ from being slightly damaged after a stun.
Or give heavy armor/300 con different perks besides stun duration increases to make it more competitive in PvP.
Are you sure that’s intentional? From a design perspective intentionally gimping CC like stun, but having roots/slows not clear on damage seems like a major oversight.
Regardless having it clear on damage renders the heavy armor/300 con perks useless
In this game stuns works like sleep mechanic in many games.
I’m light armor dps player but I totally agree with you. That heavy+300 con’s %40 longer cc duration buffs has no use with stuns, works much better with roots but terrible with stuns.
My suggestion is, they should change stun mechanic and decrease all the stun skills stun durations but buff the 300con and heavy armor’s cc percentage. So Light armors can’t stun long enough but tank players actually can do his job.
Edit: Or maybe they can put a damage treshold to stuns like after X amount of damage given to enemy, enemy break free from stun and 300 cons and heavy armor increase percentage of that treshold.
Tanks do benefit from the heavy armor cc duration feature. It makes your slows longer(leaping strike, shield rush) your knockdowns longer(wrecking ball), roots, stuns, etc.
As a tank, why would you try to follow up your stuns anyway unless it’s like, more cc? Wouldn’t it be better to let a DPS follow up?
yea its on purpose, other wise everyone who didnt run 300 con would die in seconds to all the stuns. Ever game where your stunned moment your hit in stun state it frees you. This is common in all games, and in a one on one the stun buff can be very useful even enough time for a cd to end sometimes and start your next combo
your 100% right i never follow up my stuns when i tank unless its to drop another cc thats your job as a dps to follow up whats the point of a tank throwing a wet fish at them lol
Not really… other games with hard CC like this contains an on-use item that can free you from CC’s and/or diminishing returns which this game has implemented too. Furthermore there is nothing in game that states that stuns break on damage…
not that have pvp all good games have stun break other wise people could stun people and left click them to death would be terrible for a pvp game, maybe in solo player games against mobs but not against humans.
I dont understand why you would think otherwise either, you have tried your stuns on mobs in the game to before hand right? you just didnt run into pvp without testing this on atleast monsters to see how it works?
