Stunlocks are a JOKE (Warhammer & Great Axe)

First off, I play Fire Staff / Void Gauntlet and I literally cannot move and die every time once my friend manages to hit me with only one stun or vortex – DESPITE me running Medium armour for 3 iframe dodges and 150 Constitution investment.

How is this fair? Who thought that this could possibly be a good idea and make a healthy meta?

Also, every time I use Burnout he can just stop it with Vortex. And don’t get me started about the difference in our damage outputs despite my 600 GS.

I have to agree with this, Wars and outpost rush are BS at the moment with this, there needs to be a stun cooldown for players who have just been stunned, so they have a chance to do something about it

It’s practically impossible to dodge a Gravity Well by anyone who isn’t a bot and inside I can neither heal, block nor cast abilities. Is that a bug or intended nonsense?

Often I get chain-stunned by skilled War Hammer or Spear users that even if I was Chuck Norris I couldn’t counter-play, since all my inputs get ignored.

Sorry for toxicity but Mages received worse treatment than child molesters do in prison.

Ok, lets start:

VG/IG is better against melee, but FS/VG isn’t bad. FS is more for range poke and movement, which BURNOUT does a great job of repositioning, if you use it correctly. BURNOUT is more than capable of getting you out of a grav well.

Vortex is not what’s killing you, VG actually out DPSs GA or WH, esp once voidcaller goes off. You only need to dodge once away from the center of the Vortex in medium to be able to move out of it, before the slow procs. In terms of the stun, if you can’t dodge a heavily choregraphed stun in a 1v1 situation, then that’s a personal issue. Against good players, I have to time my stun against their animations and against VG users, I typically save it for when they drop oblivion, as I know their setting up for the voidcaller proc + Scream.

Your investment is fine, and you could even go 100 con if your running MAX Med. You need to bait or save dodges for those stuns. Once the stun/knockdown are out you have a 14-16s window where GA/WH can’t stop you and is forced to create distance if they don’t want to get wrecked by oblivion/voidcaller.

This is called baiting. If he’s waiting for you to use BURNOUT to Vortex you, then he’s baiting you. You can do the same thing with Scream. This is game sense + strat and is what typically separates good players from bad ones.

You mean that a 250int invested VG does WAY more damage toe-2-toe than a 300str GA? Cause that’s the reality of your statement. This is besides the fact that 100foc makes void caller healer more than GA can actually do.

Why are you using burnout before his vortex then?
You can just kite him with ice gauntlet, if he vortexes you, you burnout out.
You are doing the wrong moves in my opinion.

I play light armor rapier, with flurry. I try to get in on the group combat of OPR and stun-dead instantly every time. That much CC is just too much CC, plain and simple. In 1v1 it isn’t so bad, but in OPR it’s absolutely nonsense.

Clearly you have no idea how the Fire Staff works. You cannot escape the Gravity Well with Burnout until the effect of Vortex has disappeared.
The same issue exists when trapped by a Petrying Scream.

The worst part is that you can be stopped by staggers and stuns on the go which really shouldn’t be a thing for this ability, as you have no other ways to kite as a Mage without stuns or good CC.

I fought fire mages, never played as you. Fleche makes you leave, so does charge, and I thought burnout did too
