Stuttering during camera movement despite good fps makes the game unplayable for me

Hello!

Whenever I use my mouse to move the view in game, I have what looks like stuttering to me. It looks like very low fps but my fps is usually at least 40. (The issue persists just as much when I have 150fps in ideal conditions)

Moving the camera view by moving my character without touching the mouse does not cause any stuttering. It is not my mouse. The same happens when turning the camera using an xbox controller.

I have tried:
lowering graphics settings
turning on/off vsync/fps cap in different combinations
turning on/off windowed mode
turning on performance mode in windows
turning down graphics settings in nvidia settings

All of these did not seem to affect the stuttering at all.

Sometimes the stuttering looks pretty weak but it is still enough to quickly make me nauseous, making the game unplayable to me.

I have the exact same issue, I came here looking for answers to see that I am not the only player seeing stuttering in the camera movement. I’m averaging betwen 72-75 while camera panning with the mouse, it is disorienting at best. At worst this giving me a real migraine after the 30 min intro and is unplayable.

Amazon dm’d me to tell me that they are aware of the issue and that it is being worked on.

Until then I have found a way to fix it. I haven’t tried it yet but apparently turning off Nvidia hardware acceleration fixes the problem, even if you turn it back on afterwards.

Here is a youtube video showing how to do it: New World Best Settings | How To Fix Lag & Get HIGH FPS - YouTube (at 1:44)

I will try it today and return to tell you if it works.

Update: It didn’t work. The setting was already turned off for me.

I have the same problem after de patch even though my fps are always at 60.

Restarted computer and opened steam then new world and problem was gone.

I have had the same issue.
This has to do with the polling rate of your mouse.
If you lower it, then the game will feel a lot less stuttery.
Mine was 1000hz, lowered it to 150hz.

Hope this helps

Thank you I will try that today.

I doubt it will work for me though since I have the stuttering even when I turn the camera with my xbox controller.
