In blunderbuss claw shot skill description it says: “The projectile will travel up to 14m and cannot pull you upwards more than 3m”. Could this be used for climbing cliffs for example? and if it could pull character up more than 3m, maybe 4 or 5 meters?
In this video New World: Dev Update - December 2021 - YouTube one team member said that “there’s some navigational tools on it”. How claw shot for example is navigational tool if you can’t use it for climbing? i’ve tried using it on trees and cliffs but nothing happens. A bit disappointing to be honest.
Some food for thought on this suggestion, how tall are the walls of the fort? Allowing such thing could cause some cheese moves. Or OPR walls as well, considering people might try to use it to climb over walls and avoid the doors like in previous times where people were able to climb up because of the rock.
Not against the idea, just would be nice to make sure it doesn’t have a negative impact
lowkey when i saw that ability for the first time i went straight to a wall and shot it up high on it lol i think it would be sick if they actually made it like that. could change some gameplay in a fun way
@MinerTarv@Willard What you think, does my suggestion sound good? could players be able to climb cliffs and/or trees with claw shot, but with balancing that it cannot be abused in forts or OPR?
This is a good idea. As far as for OPRs have it where the town have to build a defense for this. much like we have to build the canons and shit. That would be pretty tits
I think it would be awesome if they would remove the ability to cancel it in order to combat the cheesy oneshot builds and instead give it the ability to attach to the environment and even allow players to „climb“, atleast a little more than currently possible.
The Blunderbuss definitely turned out very different from what they were describing and especially claw shot is kind of disappointing.
I would like this. Even in wars I think it would be cool to be able to climb the fort walls. It might shake up the wars with some fresh strategies. They could come up with something to add in the defenses or something to help protect against it.
This isn’t really the thread for it but honestly to me, wars have become stale and boring. Same thing every war. It needs a shakeup so that all kinds of different builds are necessary and not just the standard 20-30 bruisers, some healers, and some mages doing the same stand on point spamming CCs. Could add different types of things for objectives too other than just 3 flags, fort doors, and one more flag.
