I don’t think you understand dps yourself.
DPS meter will bring out exceptionally good players very fast, showing potential dps possibilities of weapons.
I’ve said it before, the 99+ percentile of players is often a MASSIVE difference to anything 97 and below. While it starts dropping from here a lot.
Yet if a weapon is weak, you will not make it “viable” by being a good player. You will just not be allowed to play it. Even if you’re the rank 1 Ice gauntlet player in the entire New Worlds playerbase.
You will still be denied and exchanged for a 60%tile hatchet player in currents state. Even in content where it doesn’t matter at all. And with a dps meter added, your dps will be known 2sec after you apply for a party. Since your previous logs will decide about your acceptance.
Im sorry but i know very well how dps works. The problem i have is preconceived ‘metas’ making viable dps builds shunned because people dont test it themselves. SnS light dps with double bane is probably only 2nd to greatsword in dps, but the avg player doesnt know this. Also BB is considered trash in PVE but it also has one of the best burst in the game, so why is it not a viable secondary weapon?
I think a 99th percentile player using any weapon now theres 0 weaknesses will do exceptionally better than any avg player using the most optimal setup because most of your dps comes from apm, positioning, and skill priorities/rotations…
Also why do you think other players will have access to your historic logs the moment you join a party? I believe to meet middle ground reducing accessibility is needed, and avg people dont even join discord groups to run m10 pugs, let alone demand evidence of historic dps logs
The 3 vs 3 arena has DPS meter and I don’t see the most toxic arena because of that.
When the 3 vs 3 game ends, the damage/healing performed by each player is displayed.
I understand that this would be healthy for Dungeons as well.
It may not be how it works, but it’s how people think
Dps meters will damage the game in a badly and toxic way
For me personelly, if AGS ever consider implementing a dps meter to the game and it happens. i will simply quit game and play another, who knows if i come back
Just wait till they introduce a ranked mode or meaningful rewards XD
And ppl alrdy are sometimes toxic for someone not pulling his weight. Most people just refrain from toxicity cuz on most servers it’s the same 20people tops queueing for 3v3 total lol, not to mention most don’t rly care about win/lose. Same goes for OPR.
Unless the dps meter comes strictly from AGS and not as a potential addon or anyway to gather data yourself from the game. Then NWLogs would be up within a week max.
Since noone cares about dps if you cannot measure it vs others.
And yes, a 99th player would likely do better with IG vs a average nolifing NW player playing GS.
It’s actually funny cuz in FFXIV most nolifers who have thousands of hours are usually around the 0-5th percentile. They just think they’re the shit.
That’s why I say, people have not the slightest idea about the difference between highend raiders or socalled (in FFXIV) 'casual nolifers".
That’s why Lost Ark was so appealing, you could be a terrible player, yet clear through gear and think you’re actually doing sth useful.
