Seeing that the servers are cramped and you move about 1 place per minute while in queue (EU Servers), there must be something done about the people avoiding the AFK kick.
Not to be the downer here but I even see comments in posts about people logging in early so they can play “after they quit work” etc. Well it’s pretty self explanatory that the largest issue is how easy it is to avoid being kicked, and people seriously running in the same corner for hours and hours. (Well, second largest issue- After the server cap).
My suggestion is rather easy, have a window pop up on the screen with “Are you there?” Or something like that, you can even make the window pop up on “random places” to avoid most macro’s. Or maybe have a “Capcha”. This would minimize the AFK avoiding, together with people reporting the few that find workarounds will make the servers have a active online player base, instead of the 20% (Prob. more) passive online player base.
I see now that i missed some details, this should be something that isn’t triggered every 15-20 minutes of random gameplay. It could be tied to distance moved, time in a certain zone, enemies killed, hits taken- the list goes on, but i hope you het the gist!
Hope you find this useful, if not, I’m sure you’ll find a better solution!
Another day waiting over 2 and a half hours in line only to have the game crash and where I was at 9 and now I am at 29 and haven,t moved a place in the last 28 min. One of my friends who is already in after starting at 650 when I was at 41 the first time has mentioned that ALL the starting places and every hidden corner there are people standing or banging against the wall AFK . And as he is traveling around there are many just standing there doing nothing while those trying to get into the game are waiting for a place to log into. WELL it is now 3 hours trying to enter the game and I am at position 24 from 29 nothing happened for 45 min then dropped 5 places at one time. All these people who are AFK and SAVING a place in game should be kicked so others who want to CAN ENJOY THIS GAME TOO.
I counted 23 people running into walls behind houses or indoors, to prevent being kicked from the server. This has become the norm and server queues just became ridiculous.
First one is walking backwards, the second running into the window, and other 21 players behind houses and other walls. This is Windswards alone. I bet we have at least 300 players afk-in in every corner they find to protect their spot on the server.
This needs to be addressed.
