Suggestion for Gear Improvement: Quality of life

New World has ample good qualities that makes the game fresh and rewarding to play. The combat, although there will always be room for improvement is definitely going in the right direction. However currently the game is suffering from some relatively basic quality of life issues that hinder players’ enjoyment, specifically in the area of PVE.

There are 2 main culprits:
a) You cannot use the searchbar across all sheds, but have to look into each one individually
b) The amount of gear that players need to hoard is insane.

So on one side we are requiring players to hoard stuff and on the other we are not helping them organize!

Suggestion 1: Merge all sheds into ONE, still accessible from all locations. This would make the search bar ACTUALLY usable!

Suggestion 2: Reduce WARDS.
Change PVE wards to work similar like weapon perks. Weapon perks dont stack, if you have multiple Relentless Rush, you only benefit from one. If we change WARD to work in the same manner, you would only need 1 item in your gear to have WARD. Obviously this change would need to buff the amount dmg absorption you get from it.

Currently we require 10 pieces of gear per build, there are 5 main enemy types and with the addition of pvp & luck builds we have a total of 7 sets. Thats 70 pieces of gear.

If we reduce the amount of Wards we need on our armor to 1, we can just craft 5 different ward pieces on the same slot for example HAT. Then when we change expedition we only change 1 piece of gear and retain the rest.

Suggestion 3: Remove WARDS entirely and replace them with a craftable consumable that lasts 40mins (align time with honing stones).

This retains the original concept of using ward perks for enemy types but reduces the huge burden on players. I am not joking, I literally have an excel file which I use to keep a log of where my items are, otherwise I would spend an hour just retrieving stuff from sheds.

Feedback is appreciated, both good and bad.

Kind regards
Sir Whiskey
