In case a resource is contested, please auto flag both parties to PvP. This would be an awesome solution to the problem!
In case one party doesn’t want to PvP, he can decline and go for a free resource.

Good luck telling that to the forum regulars here, they don’t want to hear a word of it.
We’re better off just asking for a PvP server and leave them to click on trees on their ghost town server
