Suggestion: Make it viable for players to have no weapon actions

Hi AGS,

As I’ve been experimenting with every weapon, I’m finding that with some I just don’t like most, or even any, of the actions and, as a result, have pumped all my points into non-action traits.

This led me to recall that part in the Bleach anime where Ichigo pumps all his spiritual energy into his physical form, so he has no magic but is immeasurably physically strong. So strong he can stop a sword with his hands. I forget the name of this form/power.

Anyway, it got me thinking that there’s an opportunity here for a playstyle that doesn’t use actions but instead gets a boost from rejecting them. Sure, there’s an inherent benefit already from having the points that would otherwise be used on actions, but why not take this a step further and make a non-action build something special in its own right?

Some ideas:

  1. Perhaps there could be a trait which is only available if NO actions are selected.

  2. Building on the above, perhaps there could be three extra traits, and these would be inversely proportional to how many actions were not selected. So, if one action is selected, two of the extra traits are available.

  3. OR, building on point 2, there could be three extra traits (of increasing power) and these would automatically be selected if no actions are selected. If two actions are selected, the bottom-most of the extra traits is picked. If one action is selected, the bottom-most two extra traits are selected.

  4. OR, perhaps if no actions are selected, the player gets a 5% increase to base damage/armour or something like that.

Just my 2c
