Suggestion: New Attribute - PERCEPTION

Devs,

As it stands now, the game only allows FOCUS and INT to be used (via gems) to allow builds that combine either ranged/magic with melee or life staff.

The issue with this that for a melee-centric or ranged centric mix of weapons neither INT nor FOC gives melee weapons any functional set of perks. You gimp yourself taking 2 melee weapons.

Why not add one more attribute line for this?

  • PERCEPTION (PER)

Perception is about awareness of what is around you. The details in the environment, the judging of distances, the interpretation of noise and smells all around you.

Perks per threshold:

50:

  • Gain Distance indicator on your UI aimpoint
  • Range to your animal tracking (compass). Detect animals further out.

100:

  • Gain ability to zoom out in 3PV by 25% more
  • Range to plant tracking increased.

150

  • Battle Senses: NPCs that will use a skill attack will trigger their glow animation 2s earlier than they do now. Does not work vs players.
  • Range in which audio from your surroundings is heard (aka if you hear a wolf growl now at 20m away max , with this you hear it at 50m)

200

  • Gain UI warning indicator when a mob is to respawn within ~x meters of you (X being aggro range for that creature).
  • Blocking stamina cost from any source (melee/arrows) reduced by 10%

250

  • Gain ability to track specific creatures (aka compass track filter function)
  • 5% chance of physical weapon strike (arrows, bullets, melee) causing a bleed.

300

  • Gain ability to track specific plants
  • Gain ability to reduce your detection radius based on posture. Aka if crouched or prone then monsters will detect you only at shorter ranges. Players will not see your icon displayed until shorter ranges AND they will not see a trail animation on your ranged attacks/skills (they will see the arrow/spear/magic bolt but not a trail behind it).

Finally, all firearms should be based on PER+DEX (musket, blunderbuss, pistol, etc). BOW should scale on DEX and PER.

With PER being the ranged-centric attribute, you can now change DEX to be more melee-centric.
