Problem:
With the introduction of timeless shards, craft mods required for timeless shard crafting (10 at a time) like iron guardsman’s insignias, rough leather beaded straps, etc have become a very finite resource, and have seen an increase in price by over 10,000% on some servers. Simultaneously, we have hundreds if not thousands of 600GS legendary drops with bad stat or perk combinations that are being salvaged each week.
Suggested Solution:
Allow items which are salvaged to give a handful of craft mods based on the stat and gear score of the item. For example, if we salvage a 600 legendary item that is 25 con, reward us with 15-25 iron guardsman’s insignias. If we salvage an item that is con/dex, give us some guardsman’s insignias and rough leather beaded straps, and scale the number given based on gear score. You could potentially even lock this to non-crafted items only, so that items obtained in the open-world see a bump in value. The scaling would need some balancing, but I wouldn’t reward more than 30 for a single item, and to prevent bots from abusing it, the number for very low GS items should be between 1-4 (full suggested amounts below):
