SUGGESTION: Some small improvements with big benefits

Hi AGS,

I’d like to suggest a few improvements that should be simple to implement but would be worth their weight in azoth (imo):

  1. MOUSE ACTIVITY
First and foremost, please recognise activity by mouse clicks too. I can’t stress this enough. It’s time to fix this. The recent xp boost on fishing reminded me that standing in one spot for long periods of time, just clicking the mouse, is absurdly not recognised as activity and requires the player to stop and move with the keyboard keys when the lack of activity prompt comes up.
This also happens with the trading post, and crafting stations, and there’s no need for it.
It’s time to recognise mouse clicks.

  2. SALVAGE ALL
Please provide a “Salvage All” option in the crafting menu after crafting multiple items. It’s a common thing, at least for me, to craft 20 of something as I try to build up my xp in a crafting trade. Then I have to click each Salvage button individually AND click the confirmation prompt.
Now imagine doing this over and over. It’s not fun.
Alternatively, thought it’s probably more work, you could implement check boxes alongside the items, and a Select All option. Then users could select items to salvage and confirm once.
Additionally, there seems to be a bug with the current salvaging system in the crafting stations: sometimes clicking on a salvage button when you’ve crafted multiple items does nothing. Out of twenty salvage buttons, three or four might not do anything, forcing you to leave the crafting station and salvage that way.

  3. BIGGER CONTINUE CRAFTING BUTTON
Please expand the size of the “Continue Crafting” button, to what it used to be. You recognise it’s going to be the most common action after crafting something because you’ve made the button bigger than the other options, so why shrink it from what it was?
Also, please recognise a click on it immediately on displaying it - there seems to be a slight delay as it appears and brightens before it recognises clicks.

  4. FILTER OUT DOWNGRADES
The filters available on the crafting stations are great AND they’re remembered, so all good.
But it would be even better if there was a filter that excluded all downgrading options as well.

  5. OPEN ALL
In addition to the "Open Next’ button when opening things, could you please add a “Open All” button?

  6. SHOW ANY
As I said in another thread, it would be great to have an option in the trading post (perhaps a check box) next to the perks that when selected would look for anything with ANY of the perks, not just ALL of the perks.

  7. COMPARISON
After crafting multiple items, on that screen that asks if you want to salvage or continue, holding the mouse over the icon of a ring or amulet or whatever should pop up a comparison with what you have equipped. There’s an equip option, but (for me) there doesn’t appear to be a way to compare with what you have, unless you leave the crafting station.

  8. USE ITEM WITH MOST STACKS
When crafting, at least in the food station, where multiple ingredients are available for a particular slot, please use the ingredient type that has the most stacks.
For example, if I craft a light meal, there are three ingredients required: tier 3 raw foods, and 2 slots of raw foods. For the raw food slots, the station could use either the 300 mushrooms or 300 pork I have but instead uses 1 fish fillet for each, which means it only crafts one item at a time but also doesn’t consume my most copious ingredients, allowing them to build up to ridiculous levels.
In cooking, there’s no need for this. There’s no difference between a light meal made with fish and a light meal made with mushrooms. Defaulting to the highest stacked items would be very useful. If you don’t want to default this, at least make it an option in the Settings.

  9. EASIER INTERACTION
Allow for interaction with a crafting station if player is near it, without having to look directly at it. The woodworking bench catches me out every time, because it’s below eye level. You run up to other stations and they’re at eye-level and immediately interactive, but with the woodworking station I find myself having to look down for it to become interactive. It’s a tiny thing but so pointless, when being near it should be enough.

  10. EASIER SKINNING/HARVESTING
The xp boost for gathering a few days ago also reminded me how awkward it is to skin animals or harvest plants. Trees are generally fine but with animals that die on a slope, you have to find just the right elevation for the corpse to be interactable. This should just work on straight line distance. This would also help with animals that die during corruption events and, when the corruption disappears, end up floating above ground level where you can’t interact with them under the current methodology.

  11. WIDER HARVESTING AREA
Building on the above, please increase the harvesting distance for plants, just by a little bit. Some plants, which are not circular in shape, can only be harvested from certain sides where the player can get close enough. Approaching from the longer side doesn’t allow interaction, which is pointless and time wasting.

  12. COMPLETE BUTTON ON FACTION REP
With town projects, it often happens that by the time I get to the town board again the project I signed up for is no longer shown, but you can still use the Complete button to hand it in. This is awesome! But there’s no equivalent for faction reps. There’s a particular mission - slay the corrupted - that can be handed in to any faction rep, but if you’ve signed up for all three pve missions the rep won’t let you hand in the corruption event. The map will tell you it’s ready, but you can’t do anything with it unless you find a rep that has that event showing. A “complete” button on the faction rep would help with this.

  13. ALLOW MULTIPLE TRADE FOODS
It seems that certain trade foods cancel each other out; for example, if you take one for armouring, then one for jewellery, the latter cancels the former. What’s the purpose of this? Is there any harm in having them all up together?

That’s probably enough for now. Getting any of these implemented (especially #1) would be very appreciated.
Thanks for considering, Z.
