[SUGGESTION] The "Re-Forging" System - How New World can tie its End Game systems together

Hey @BRGF Thanks for visiting and taking time to read through the thread. Very happy to see it at least made someone’s radar.

I agree, the goal here was to get some new creative ideas for the team and improve NW overall. Maybe this system or this system inspires them to do something else. Either way, I think everyone agrees we need something like this, where we can take “near-miss” items that are close to what we want, and refine them just a little bit to bring them more in tune with the pieces we are looking for.

I will share one of the most frustrating things for me is running Mutations and getting some really good piece but then has some wasted perk, or is the wrong stat, etc. So I think allowing people to take these “near-good” items and make them “good” would be VERY welcome to the game!

Cheers!

@aaronmsmith88 Sure thing, we are constantly scanning through and even if you do not see posts from CM’s and Mods on threads, please know we are always gathering feedback.

We have received an update that the team in fact has received the report. We cannot make any promises but hopefully, this can spark up some new ideas for further improvement in New World. We all want the game to reach its potential but we also want it to be a really great experience for all.

We would like to thank you for your time and effort put into this thread!

I really like this idea!!

One thing in my head is the change to the usage of the epic craft materials. Right now, to “reroll” an item requires the full set of asmo, runic, phoenix. Moving to this system would take a big chunk out of those markets.

I’m not sure if that’s a problem or not. Maybe another item could be added to this mix, required for the reroll, that is crafted out of 1-2x each epic mat. Just a thought. .

This might be going out on a limb but perhaps reforging could even become a new tradeskill. One that unlocks after other skills reach 200 perhaps. This is a massive shift to how we look at gear… For the better!! And it deserves its own spotlight, IMHO, and not just a new set of really complicated recipes in the existing tradeskills (timeless shards are great but crafting those… Omg gathering mats is like calculus hehe)

Definitely not opposed to this idea at all.
