Suggestion to Incentivize More Open-World PvP

Preface:

Sharing this with you all because I think this is a great idea that would incentivize more people to engage in open-world PvP (rather than simply flagging and using it as a way to boost their luck, though never purposely fighting, which is what we see now). This suggestion comes from a person with over 1000 hours in-game who wants to see the game succeed and thrive. This suggestion also accounts for the potential for bot/RWT abuse (though that aspect may be improved). This also wouldn’t require much work from an implementation perspective.

TLDR for Open-world PvP mechanic feature addition:

  • Level 55+ players receive a “token” when they kill another 55+ player in open-world PvP.
  • This token can be exchanged at the faction vendor for a loot chest (similar to OPR loot chest) that drops an RNG item between 590-600.
  • For players < 55 (or if a player who is 55+ kills a player less than level 55), open-world PvP kills would continue dropping the same gear that it does now.

Interested and open to all thoughts, suggestions, and feedback. Would appreciate the opportunity to engage with the dev team or product owner.

I think it could be even easier than all that… here me out. everything you do while flag meaning hitting rocks punching trees or touching grass. earns a u a bit of faction/territory rep

No matter what “incentive” you throw out there a PVE player will NEVER flag if it cost them gold to repair and a waste of time you lose from dying and respawn far away from what you were doing. Also including a balanced of pvp builds, not what we have in NW and never will.
