So, the Devs said that they don’t want to add the minimap because they said it would take the immersion of the game and I’m fine with that, I understand why they say it. They created a beautiful world full of places to explore. But why not going further on the exploration?
What do you think about giving a chance to any mineral to respawn as Orichalcum or Platine? A very low chance, maybe 0.1%? (I don’t know if that would be extremely high or low tbh)
Same with the rest of the resources. Trees, fibers…
That way they’ll give a reason to go exploring the map and try to find that special resource you are looking for with a random chance.
Nowadays, I find myself going to the orichalcum spots and finding 3 people waiting for the nodes to respawn, which I personally hate.
Other option would be make the high tier materials spawn in random places, but I guess that’s much more work and code to do.
Obviously they should leave the already set high tier nodes in case you don’t want to be running around and just wait for the nodes to appear and tryhard against other 3 people to get it.

I don’t think it would help. A guaranteed 100% spawn of a mineral vs. a .1% or even 1% chance is terrible to count on. Also it would hurt newbies who don’t have the mining skill to mine the material until a high level gets to it.
A few thoughts on the mining system:
Competition is good. Camping is the real issue. More random spawn times would help along with giving materials areas to spawn in rather than an exact location. Keep spawning minerals in that area every X minutes until Y number of nodes have been reached depending on how quick and how rich the devs want that area. You want to camp the area you have to keep moving around the entire area finding where the nodes are spawning.
Lower level resources might need a buff in the refining amounts. If Orichalcum used more Starsteel, Starsteel used a bit more steel and steel used a bit more Iron then iron ore and starsteel ore would be a bit more valuable and give people more of a reason to farm those.
My final thought is don’t rush changes too much. Once the initial craze on getting voidbent and other resources go down so will the rush to get resources. However I still think randomized timers and placement of resources is the best course of action.

That would be perfect. Random spawns will stop the camping and it would help with the exploration also. Although, I have the feeling that requires much more coding or at least effort to do. You dont want random nodes spawning floating on the air or under a boulder.
