[Suggestion]Azoth Teleport-to-player Ability

A bad idea that has a lot of negative consequences.

I have a better iteration of this.

Give companies abilities, like teleport. Allow a company officer+ to drop a “summon banner”, which once triggered has a cooldown for the entire company. Force a popup, like that of entering a dungeon, to accept or decline the summons if they are not in instanced gameplay (like opr or dungeons). put an azoth resource cost on it and make the company have azoth stockpiles like it does gold.

In the hands of individuals we will get teleporting to specific spots (in a abusive ways)

No. Bad idea.

The above way i suggested it has been done in another mmo (rift) and worked really well, especially for encouraging and starting massive world pvp fights.

So what? There are tons of mechanics in many mmos that worked there. Does not mean they will work in NW. And one you suggest adds nothing to the game. And creates issues if you can teleport on flagged friend. And 0 value if only on unflagged friend.

You have shrines very 10m around world. There is no need to anything else.

The teleport can be made such that it only works when unflagged.

That’s how I pictured it anyway, as I have zero interest in PVP.

You have shrines every 10m. Dont need that system. Waiste of developers time.

On the contrary, we need more systems - more options that cater to a diversity of playstyles and experiences.

No. Couse amount of resources is limited. There are game breaking issues and you ask to make system that only adds 1 value: make 5 ppl who are to lazy to run from shrint to friend - happy.

So yea add it, but put as feature to be added in 2030.

And no more systems does not make game better. Opposite. If systems are overriding each other or not worked well togetehr its a mess. Look at PoE - its a mess.

That there are game breaking issues and limited resources aren’t compelling reasons to not do an additional, complimentary feature for a video game - many game features are developed concurrently - this isn’t a situation like the engineering aimed at breaking free of Earth’s gravity (too many errors/accidents, discontinue) nor is it like peak oil (limited resource, discontinue building gas-powered vehicles).

Also, in-game systems can work in parallel without overriding each other.

I’ll take your word for it that PoE is a mess, I played it for perhaps half an hour and then never went back.

Yes many developers can work on different features. Thats how does it work.
So if you ask me if i prefer:

  • fix pvp balance issues - require lot of developer powers
  • fix pvp reward system
  • get new opr map
  • get new arena map
  • get raids
  • do changes to crafting system

or replace one of this with your teleport system? No i dont need that teleport system for game to feel better. And random feature i can thing about will make game better. Like different colors for aoe speels on ground in pvp. Maybe transmog. Anything. Thats how not needed is what you suggesting.

The use of the ellipsis denotes that there isn’t a limit to the number of features that can be worked on, regardless of priority of importance.

There are plenty of things I can list ahead of my own suggestion as well.

From that it does not follow that the suggestion should not be implemented.

I’m playing a game where there were teleports such as you suggest. This is the worst thing I’ve ever played!!!

Good idea. Teleport to player should be some way limited, but it could be a ncie way to teleport to my guildmate when he needs help

It could make make open world pvp more alive, if people would suddenly teleport to a guy to help him  I can see benefits and more action

I dont think that such a mechanic would be abusive in a company setting. I think it will encourage world pvp a lot.

No. It will only make toxic players more toxic. While they are solo pvp runs they dont bother you. But moment they have friends - they grow balls and jump any enemy the can.

So now imagine this type of players - and its most of player base - can insta call friends to jump on solo player. Hell no.

So you want to punish the 2450 players on server with less pvp because the other 50 people want to farm with pvp mode on?

Turn off pvp mode, it does not impact world farming anyways.

I’m not a fan of 25 players spamming left click on a Boss for 10 minutes. I like some mechanics from Amrine, Starstone, Lazarus, Ennead and BB that split players to solve a puzzle. If I wanted to press 2 buttons on a boss for 10 min I would play WOW

Solving puzzles and getting rewards should be the main idea behind expeditions, with the danger of being killed by powerful enemies

Oh yea, regarding the main post, you have a Shrine on almost all POI’s on the map

There are lots of shrines, yes.

That doesn’t diminish the utility of a once-per-day, person-to-person teleport in non-PVP mode.

Think the teleporting issue can be solved if the flags summoning can be destroyed by other pvp players. New world needs mechanics that splits teams and groups up in pvp instead of creating a Zerg. Even large scale pvp needs to show case player tactics and skill. New world needs to do away with zergs as much as possible. And the only way to do this I see is to find ways to force people or leaders to have to split there forces up. Think if players are forced to send reseources to stop the person or guild leader placing down a summoning flag that would be interesting. But when the summoning flag is placed it needs to show a big light a big signal so everyone knows where it was placed.
