Still no.
The point on starmetal is more the strain on the metal market in general in comparison to others. It’s ironic everyone is in favor of cheaper legendary materials for the sake of asmodeum but have become far too complacent with the costs of orichalcum ingots. I know on our server alone, to get weaponsmithing from 150-200 is roughly 3150g per level as of last night. There is no other craft that takes that much money to break the 200 ceiling. not even close.
I am sure the story of Orichalcum ore is different on other servers. It is in my experience, as someone who spends time mining, there are fewer than half of the regular miners there used to be (which isnt necessarily a bad thing), but it reflects in our prices of Orichalcum Ore.
I agree the changes are great… most of them. Instead of getting 20+ combined materials of legendary mats per aptitude level, it should really be half of that while rewarding another form of metal to ease the expenses of Orichalcum Ingots in the lower 2 caches. There should still give a nice 9-12 on the final cache and still encourage people to gather using the current luck system of trophies and gear. The current situation that people (refiners) love, is too pay a far to cheap price for a “legendary” material and not even think twice about leaving town to farm it. Legendary mats are simply too common of a material in the current system.
Also Tolvium/Cinnabar is a luck based drop just like void ore. Luck based gear improve drop rates. Luck based trophies improve drop rates. It’s at least intended to be a “rare” material that needs luck to gather efficiently.
Perhaps in the very near future GS cap is going up significantly and new mats combined with a lot of old legendary mats will be required for crafting…
The price of Oricalcum ingot is higher by 500 gold than the lowest I’ve seen.
It doesn’t matter if Tolvium/Cinnabar floods the market, because the production of Oricalcum is time gated.
I think some people just need to only play a couple of hours a day, and do something to help society more, unless your make money from New World.
Swimming in legendaries is not good for the game, no human will do gathering/farming anymore we will rely on bots and buy most from TP, and refine instead. There is something wrong when Orichalcum ingots costs more than the legendary mats or have pretty much same cost. What needs to be done:
-
Remove legendary mats from Refining Aptitude chests. Add maybe new better refining mats as a reward, more refined mats as reward (extra ingots, silks) etc.
-
Gathering/Gathering aptitude should be the only way of getting Legendary Mats, to make it easier for everyone increase the amount of T5 nodes, orichalchum, wirefibers, ironwood in the world. Can also increase aptitude xp yield on the higher tier nodes. This will make the availability of legendary mats a middleground between current patch and last patch. Also makes you do the actual stuff, gather to get legendary materials.
-
Aptitude rewards are kinda generic and boring like: legendary mats, perks and azoth. For example in mining aptitude you can add that you can get a huge chunk of Lodestones, extra Orichalcum ore etc. Not only legendary mats.
Im human. I farmed for weeks to level armorsmithing post nerf. The only thing I bought was the chest drop stuff that I never had enough of. Everything else I farmed myself. I also farmed everything myself for making 2 sets of void bent armor for me and my wife. I also still farm everything myself to make our Asmodeum cooldowns everyday, phoenix weave cooldowns everyday, and runic leather cooldowns everyday. I don’t do the tree one because I am not 200 refining there yet.
This is what we do to enjoy the game the way we want to. I still have to fight for about 2 hours to get 800 orichalcum ore because on my server, regardless of what the other guy says, orichalcum is still heavily farmed by all the same people it was pre patch.
Leave the drops alone. They aren’t hurting anybody except the guys that had nodes on lockdown for 3 months while the rest of us got chicken scraps.
How about this… Gatherers gets their legendary mats from their boxes: tolvium, cinnabar, scarhide, smolderhide, blisterweave, scalecloth, wildwood and barbvine. Refiners gets their legendary mats from their boxes: asmodeum, runic leather, glittering ebony and phoenixweave. Seems fair right?
That’s not the point. I want you to get other better rewards like a higher tier Flux, Sandpaper or whatever. That can increase the chance of getting extra asmodeum/runic leather. Or extra ingots, silks etc in boxes. The aptitude boxes are so generic now. There needs to be a diffirence between gathering aptitude boxes and refining aptitude boxes.
There actually a difference
You get crafting mods from gathering aptitude boxes and you dont in refining boxes
People will literally complain about anything on here holy crap.
Agree !! Legendary materials are worthles now!! Its LEGENDARY ffs !! People even use luck gear when farming bcs you dont need it anymore! You can buy legend materials for 10g😂 we need nerf asap !
I play a few hours a day, doing varied activity. I get a couple of aptitude points per day in crafts. I am doing ok on legendary mats but am definitely not swimming in them.
I think if you play the game and not just super grind one specific thing, the aptitude drop rate is just right. I get a few extra legendary mats per day but nothing crazy.
If anything, keep the experience gain the same, just lower how much you can do each day. But 3 aptitude levels per day is low enough. How much lower can it go?
If no materials will be added very soon which is next month or in two months from now on then making these current legendary materials drop like candy was most likely exaggerated.
I have expected to see Cinnabar and Tolvium drop from 100g and 150g each before the aptitude system to 50g each after the aptitude system but now they are 20g each on Valhalla which is a pretty populated realm.
Your expaction from price drop wasn’t accurate so you want everything to get nerfed ? What critical thinking is that . I have never seen players cry about low price but here on NW. ……….AS I STATED earlier this is a free market. If YOU feel that price are lower than you think there is nothing to stop you from buying them all and controlling market……You guyz really clueless
Someone has no idea what goes into a “free market”
a governing body is still printing money providing value on currency.
a governing body is still paying subsidies to make some goods more affordable to the public.
a governing body still provides incentives to switch from farming/producing/buying one thing to farm/produce/buy another.
You speak as though the economy is perfect and the problem is on the consumer’s end when in reality, The governing body literally just imported free legendary mats and is undercutting the luck farmer. The luck farmer is out of business for no more reason than to make it convenient for people to make asmodeum at a cheaper price. The bigger problem is what the governing body created… a shortage of orichalcum ore because it was a secondary pick up for the luck farmer to sell. Orichalcum ingots go for 50% higher prices due to less orichalcum ore on the market and higher obsidian flux prices (2x more flux to go the silver/gold/plat route). Asmodeum is still expensive because of the prices for orichalcum ingots and the cooldown price went up. So now the result of attempting to make asmodeum cheaper has hardly worked (gone down from 550g to 450g being generous) but now leveling weaponsmithing is even more of a money pit compared to other crafts. BY FAR.
When you understand economics, then you can talk about economics.
The first 2 aptitude chests need to provide relief to the orichalcum ingot prices instead of providing legendary mats. That will help keep asmodeum prices down to where they are if not lower, it will make weaponsmithing more affordable and comparably priced to other crafts, and give luck farming purpose without being as expensive as before (still a final aptitude cache reward). There is no reason for legendary mats to be cheaper than their non-legendary counterpart. Leveling weaponsmithing should be done with ingots before legendary mats. Anyone who says otherwise should re-evaluate the meaning to a legendary tag. You think you want it to be cheap and easy to get, but you don’t.
Honestly, these items are the most valued. Someone can always use some obsidian flux or obsidian sandpaper. Second most valued are the vials of azoth.
No. Chests don’t need a tweak. But the lag does.
Yes they need nerf a lot lmao
