Swimming in legendary mats. Aptitude chests need a tweak?

Please don’t pass this on. All of the miners are just crying that they can’t just corner the market with the only semi-rare legendary material anymore. Tolvium and Cinnabar is now finally coming into line with the other legendary materials and I don’t understand why miners think their mats should be so special.

If you reduce the rewards from the chest then you need to either increase the spawn rate of the orichalcum nodes or add more nodes to the world so cinnabar/tolvium is just as rare as the other legendary materials.

You can already see that the prices start to move the orichalcum ingots. In our server they are already 20g ea, when they were like 12g couple days ago.

edit: people are also selling tolvium and cinnabar 10g / ea, of course its not good business but people have so much them.

To be honest, these changes and rewards from chest are great! I wouldn’t change anything with it.

You would have just run into 5 bots that hog all the nodes 24/7. You would have farmed 5 hours a day to get a few nodes and seen like 10 legendaries a month. This is better. They are more on par with the rest now. You can still make money it just won’t be 500 bucks for one item. Now you can sell the ore instead of dumping it on the ground.

On my server it raised from 7 cents to 50 cents.

That’s it in a nut shell…

Getting a perfect roll takes a lot of mats.

This is a very good thing.

Exactly this. It’s unbelievable that people are complaining that the rewards are too good.

It’s like this player base needs to be abused? Are they only happy when things are nerfed to the ground so they write posts “git good” or “grind more”? Baffling.

You dont understand, it will destroy the economy, gathering gear, food and trophies are not needed. So their pricess will drop. Also then spices needed to those food are dropping. Recipes those food are not needed. Its not only that legendary materials are cheap and easy to get but it will affect many other parts of the game. They could then also remove just all gathering luck stuff.

You’re exaggerating and being hysterical. From dropping prices to “hey could then also remove just all gathering luck” - relax, take a deep breath. These mats were too damn rare. Having a steady stream and, most of all, disconnected from the stupid RNG is a very good thing. You still 10 x2 of each to craft your dailies and it’s usually not enough so you need to supplement by buying or farming yourself.

Let’s just enjoy the game.

yeah but you dont need any luck gear anymore, you get so much legendary materials by just hitting like boulders. Only thing you need now if the Tier 5 material itself because the bottleneck is now the ori ingots, infused leather and silk and ironwood planks.

edit: only thing were I use luck gear + food is skinning because there you dont get way too much legendary hides from the boxes.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Since it’s a fun and good change for players, it will be nerfed, as per developers’ MO. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I have achieved Mining Aptitude 2.2 so far and prior to the Aptitude system, I barely had any Tolvium or Cinnbar in my inventory despite the Mining Luck + food I’ve had, yet have plenty of Orichalcum Ore on stand by. Now, with this system, I have plenty of both to conduct three (3) days worth of Asmodeum cooldowns for x30 Asmodeum Ingots. The T5 Legendary materials rewards “offset” the amount of Orichalcum Veins that are still in the world. To me, this is a good change and a fair balance for players of the ladder prior to the patch experiencing the difficulty of not obtaining Tolvium or Cinnbar as we are currently. Now, players can go forth crafting or selling their Asmodeum because AG/NW Dev’s gave us the “tools” i.e. Aptitude system to benefit of receiving Tolvium and Cinnbar by “playing the game” as intended. The most Tolvium I’ve recieved from a Aptitude Cache was x14 Tolvium but that was attaining a whole Level. Is that excessive? To some, perhaps, but to others, that’s more Tolvium anyone can say they’ve ever received. Sure, we’ll definitely will see the TP economy tank for now because Tolvium and Cinnbar are plentiful within those caches but at least they are being utilized for crafting more items than before plus, with that, it greatly increases your Smelting Aptitude levels as well.

welcome, willard. you get points for staying positive and remaining professional. try not to sound like a robot, though. it can make players feel like you don’t really mean what you’re writing.

Eh… dont worry, I never used legendary mats to craft before this patch because ga to cost was too wasteful.

Now? I never use normal mats to craft, only using legendary. Since the cost to performance now kinda worth it.
It might be too early to say this is “fine” or “balanced” , but I’m willing to give this update some time to stabilise before AGS decides if they need an adjustment or not.

The only people that are seeing problems are farmers and gold sellers.

A lvl 200 aptitude player being rewarded a completely useless low level material out of high level endeavors?.. come on…

Also I get a feeling you are probably in a small server - a lot of well off servers sell full voidbent sets for 40k and asmodeum sells sub 100g so in the end, after good merges, most prices are already gonna be that low…

It’s not. The bottleneck is the Asmo cooldown. You still have to mine alot of Ori (or a metric ton of Starmetal) to get the aptitude.

You know that something is wrong when you don’t use the common drop to make the legendary one since the common is rarer

It does feel rewarding tho… but after those couple days I have 150+ azoth vials and perhaps 60-110 of each of the legendary mats … so keeping up with daily epic crafts is very easy now.

Quick update - as of last night the cost of these mats were down 60% from their previous normalized value on my server. For people saying this brings them in line with other legendary mats, that’s simply not true. The other mats have cratered as well, they just did so from a lower starting point.

Server merge today will be interesting. I will be going from a very low pop to a medium+ pop server so it will be fun to see how the economy shakes out.
