Switching to a more top side view when casting area abilities

Please? It’s REALLY hard to properly aim a small AOE like pillar of flame during a chaotic war/pvp, and sometimes literally impossible when your enemies are uphill. Hell even big AoE’s like ice storm/meteor shower completely miss sometimes because you can’t see where the circle indicator is at and you just have to pray that it hits. Is it possible in the code when you are aiming an AOE skill that your camera goes to a more ‘above you with a downwards angle’ style?

That would literally make me enjoy my mage alot more. You can make it something you can toggle on/off for the people that dislike it. Or when you go into PvE and there isn’t as much stress on aiming as fast as possible.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Like this angle, but instead of the angle moving with my mouse, it stays static like this until I release the spell or cancel it.

Is there no other mage/bow player that feels the same way?

People are asking for this for months now.

Since their lead designer is a GA player - expect it patched in 2 years, if ever.

Congratulations.

I don’t disagree.

It would make the skill ceiling a bit lower without breaking anything, but this is a pretty specific change thar I just done see AGS doing right now
with everything else going on.

I heard they removed Animation canceling on PoF though, that… was not needed.

Oh yeah I don’t expect it to be high on their prio list, but if it’s on there at the very least that would be nice.

As far as skill ceiling, I would agree were it not for the fact you sometimes can’t see where your aoe will land and you just have to pray for the best. That can’t be intended. If you are fighting uphill or there is alot of obstacles like trees/bushes. I mean if GA can track you from 5 meters away it would be nice if we could atleast aim our damage properly :stuck_out_tongue:

Instead of the skill ceiling being on our end, the skill ceiling would be more on the receiving end, you can still dodge out of the aoe’s. If this change gets implemented you would have to do this more often since it won’t miss as much anymore.

Like this, good luck hitting anything at max range.

Sure you can see the lines going up, but you can’t see where your enemies are standing at the same time.

Bump

This change would be great. God forbid we mages can drop the luck/pray only to resort to our skill while mouthbreathing melee just spam left click for uptime.

10/10 would fix
