Hold up, you can tank 5 people alone, but complain about the ONE ability that can counter your bunker build? Yeah, that’s working as intended.

PVP doesn’t have taunt . Taunt and Threat are the primary tools of tanking. In. PVP those tools are instantly irrelevant.
These are simple concepts that appear to be ignored on these type of threads .
I really haven’t pvpd enough to say anything more than that but it would seem the role of a tank in PvP and PvE would be different.
There’s a lot you can body block.
The Sword and Shield skills and passives are absolutely bottom tier boring compared to the weapons they’ve added more recently too. The more they add to the game, the more boring S&S feels.
Got an Axe over there summoning black holes for no reason, some kinda wacky gloves that shoot fuckin magic shit everywhere, one even turns into a damn sword and has more support and utility and healing than anything but the life staff, this hammer that sounds like Thor just took a shit on an electric guitar plugged into some stadium speakers while it literally causes fuckin earthquakes, and the sword’s still over here like “Sometimes I can jump and poke you at the same time, and sometimes I do a little spin move! My cooldowns are long because I do three light attacks! Hope you like takin’ it slow buddy because my one defensive cooldown is 45 seconds! It’s like the 9th best defensive skill in the game though so watch out.”

yeah that what i was saying about i need to replace gems every time i wanna do something, i also need respec abilities and talents every content. i feel like the taunt gem need a pass and all the abiitles that do squat because it has no pvp use. so yeah i feel you on that
Get reverse stab, and if there’s enough around you can keep Defiant up almost continuously. You get the cooldown reduction multiple times when you hit multiple enemies.

And that’s why they just could add a debuff on being taunted. It’s not rocket science.

Heh it would be cool if taunt .add everyone invisible but the taunter. If you get taunted you can only see other people who taunt you or damage you for like 30 seconds

I have made 2 suggestions for shield tanks here, let me know what people think of it.
I think I have come to the conclusion that all of these upgrades that give x buff while y enemies are around just make tanking a whole lot worse. There is apparently a hidden modifier that makes stamina damage increase with the damage you output. The reason to have a shield is to block all these front liners, yet they have all the bonuses they need to counter shield. Meanwhile we are expected to be easily shield broken yet have barely any sources of fortify and rely heavily on life staff buffs.
And then comes defiant stance which I believe doesn’t stack with fortify and is applied on top? May be the best skill we have, but it doesn’t actually do anything for us as shield users.
My only true complaint that is justified however is the animation of shield rush. AGS needs to make that one as smooth as they have just made leaping strike.
I want you to read what the passives of IG are doing and realize that its entirely possible and isn1t a bug lol.

what would ppl think about being able to poke thing over your shield as you block? seen mobs do would help with pve and pvp

Yeah there should definitely be ways to do this. Blocking feels too useless right now. Its good against ranged but melee just destroy your shield so fast, you may as well dodge alot of attacks and since some abilities go straight through shield like shockwave.
The stamina damage from your weapon doesn’t actually indicate the full stamina damage being done, and is being influenced by attribute with scaling, just like weapon damage scales.

That developer explanation is really bad and doesn’t exactly explain what they mean.
Wish they would just give examples of what they mean instead of making us guess.
