@ksmskt Hey there. Glad you’re reaching out, I know exactly what you mean.
I think this comes down to a two parter.
A) It could be that your shield is breaking cause of some weapon tree talents that aren’t chosen.
B) If the case is that you’re sharing the exact same tree as me, it could be a matter of dodging.
I will gladly share my weapons and the build im running. I’m also running full constitution on points picked, but my gear is mixed up with some strength for extra threat damage.
Build Be aware that this page can take a little while to load in.
Something i’ve learned in regards of preventing a full stamina deplete when you’re really low on it, is just to dare take more light attacks and predict the heavys and THEN you pop your “Final Stand” ability. Since you regain 100 stamina in that time. That way you can skip getting the dizzy effect of being stamina empty.
UPDATE: Another tip. I can say that im constantly holding the rightclick in a fight, if i know that alot of heavys are going on. I never ever release it and just left click or shield bash then i stop.
It becomes the same effect as these annoying Skeletons at lvl 44-54 with Big Shield and Spear.
Also, since everything is new. I think running heavy gear is not a long term solution to perfect tanking in this game. I think that yes, you should have a couple of heavy pieces but also a few mediums. Getting to the medium bar so you can dodge better is the key. Obviously on huge packs, running full heavy can be better. But for some bosses that demands more mobility, you can easily swap out some gear and move more fluent and just use the shield when necessary.
@ItzMeSuno You’re not alone, it’s really annoying isn’t it haha :D!
@Walsingham This is familiar. I think this really really comes down to dodging, or make leeway with your Warhammer for instance on packs. But yes on bosses, i feel you. I’ve done the Arena Boss in Eden Grove, and here we are talking literall pinball to an extent when you can only hit the boss every 8th second. Though this boss doesn’t do much dmg, which also makes me think you can go for medium gear on a boss like this, not entirely sure have to try out.
Though, i think one of the fundamental issues with tanking in NWO is that you’re taking three steps forward with your sword. This make you either come into a position you don’t want to be in, by coming up to the left or right side of the boss, this can wipe the group with frontals.
And also the hitbox on some bosses and creatures are just beyond perfect, this is something that the devs really need to work on.
Also, playing with melees, the fact that you can’t move through people in combat, make the three steps forward even more contradictory. You can get stuck when you dont want to be rock solid on a point.
