Bumpity bump bump.
Endgame SNS deals more damage than every other weapon. It’s what happens when you have access to 6 perks and every other weapon only has access to 3. They need to add more generic offhand weapons to the game.
That said, if Hatchet wants any buff, it is to improve the hitbox/tracking. Right now, it still struggles to hit the larger bosses and running targets.
sword does not do more damage than hatchet. Hatchet is based off applying modifiers correctly. If you utilize the damage buff from heavy attack and the light chain properly you will never lose dps to a sword. That being said its not easy to apply all the mods correctly in pvp. But pve for sure.
I disagree. Constant modifiers vs having to activate.
Thats basically what I just said. Hatchet=more damage but harder to maintain in pvp. If you can’t maintain those modifiers in pve than there is no help for that player. Regardless if its harder to maintain or not it still has potential for more damage.
Constant modifiers will do more damage regardless of your hatchet story.
Hatchet modifications have the ability to be constant and give a far greater % bonus than sword does when stacked up together. Its math and hard to argue. Hatchet modifiers are only not constant when you do things to let them fall off. I agree that hatchet is lackluster for pvp but in regards of raw damage vs. sword its better
Sure, sure.
The devs can decide.
I am sure the devs understand how their own modifiers work and are capable of basic math to add up which provides a larger bonus. After all they did design the weapons.
Sure, sure.
i don´t understands whats the problem here,
With a hatchet you can nearly hit 4k with ervery hit. (Light attack)
If you play right. Sword is fast but you don´t do more dps then the hatched
4k every hit? Prove it.
Check out the Gear Perks for Hatched. Check ingame the Keen Berserk perk out.
Its Stackable.
Keen Berserks: On Ilvl 600 get 14% Krit while under 685% Health when using Berserk(Yes its bugged).
And Stackable means you get 70% krit out of the gear only. then +11% on Weapon + 11% on Ring.
(Plus 5% if you min max with the 50 dex perk). so your totaly on 96% krit
when i play full Dex, The hatched non crit light attacks already at ~2k damage for me. With Strengh its much higher. Because of Scaling.
So Berserk has not that much of a CD and there are players they hit with 8k with the hatched.
So, bugged abilities allow the hatchet to work…
Gtfoh
There is just a Number bug. (AGS nows it).
The number should not be 685%. It should be 68,5%.
4K with every hit? Man just stop.
Then check it out Yourself.
Get a hatched with Crit/Crit dmg,
Then Get gear With the Bugged keen berserk trade.
Then try it out. If you play right you can get even more with a hatchet.
Does it? I’d love to see you dataset and test parameters.
I am currently testing SnS + Hatchet, and I feel pretty confident that your conclusion is wrong:
First, they have extremely similar raw damage and scaling.
So the base damage should be about the same, but:
the complete 3-hit sword combo takes about 135 frames before you can initiate another combo, averaging 45 frames per attack. The hatchet makes the full 4-hit combo in about 160 frames. which translates into an average of 40 frames per attack. In practice, the hatchet is faster.
And the “Accumulated Power” trait means that the last hit in the chain has 30% empower.
Note: the counted frames are not 100% accurate there are too many influencing factors such as fluctuations in fps and latency, but it is an average, but the conclusion remains unchanged.
(Faster attacks mean more responsive dodges.)
If I have not forgotten anything the constant buffs in the swordmaster branch are 2: Leadership (elite) and Precision:
Leadership is comparable to Aganist All Odds, since you always fight with at least one enemy, the 10% bonus is to be considered permanent. And it’s better than Leadership as it multiplies for every enemy within range. Note: Thanks only to AAO I have had circumstances where I did 3.5k light attack damage, with only 250 STR points.
The only constant trait of the sword more than the hatchet in the offensive branch is the 10% critical chance derived from “Precision”. Meanwhile all the other activatable buffs of the hatchet are equal to or significantly better.
And no one seems to consider berserk, which practically gives 20% damage, 20% haste, 30% HP regen, uninterruptible attacks, and a stunbreak for 50% of the time. And let’s not forget Defly Death, 3 seconds of DPS YOLO mode.
This, basically allows facetanking while doing damage and helps a lot to maintain the combo Relentless Fury buff > Accumulated Power + Fortifying Strike, and a constant DPS.
Honestly, I sometimes even doubt that SnS is a better tank than hatchets, all things considered.
sword is one of the worst weapons right now… lol ^^
