T2 and T5 Armor Scaling Problem

We also tested in on our Server.
How can a T5 item get more dmg then a T2 armor, cause the Amor per GS is higher on the T2 item, while the dmg diff is 50+.

There are also many Post that report that issue, but its just getting ignored that t2 gear will do more dmg and the t2 convert gem does more dmg then a t4/t5 while its a 10% diff+ of the gem.

This should never be a thing in a game where its about PVP.

How can this even happen?

Hello friend! I believe that this should become more public so that we can all make the right gear choices as of right now. I rewatched that video multiple times, but he never actually states which armor tier is best for damage reduction. He states T2 but as you know, T2 armor does not have the resilient perk. So I am going to guess that it is the T3 lvl 25 faction armor which has the combination of the resilient perk and the lowest gear possible gear score with that perk. In your tests, did you find that it was T3 or actually T2?

In terms of gems, from what I understand the intended gem for both phys and elemental damage reduction should be diamond. However multiple people report that it is Onyx which is intended for only physical damage reduction but it reduces all damage?

So everyone should be running T3 faction + onyx? Can anyone confirm so we can have a level playing field?

We tested it and its to 100% the Armor per Gear Score.
I have more dmg reduction in PvP with round about 300phy armor then with 611.
Same goes for the T2 gems Int gems etc.

The scaling is just fucked up and should just be removed at lvl 60.
The scaling issues alrdy got reported at release, but never got fixed.
For Game that is about PvP this is a shame I will also bump this everyday till its getting fixed.
Cause T2 Gear and T2 Gems should not better then a T5 at lvl 60 for PvP

I’ve tested as well and this is true. This definitely needs to be addressed as this is a key mechanic.

Isn’t the Video totally ignoring the Str/ Const… Bonuses? most likely the difference is way smaller if you have way more Lifepoints or more damage …
I mean if you change T5 (Gloves and Boots) equipment for t2 equipment you loose ~42 Statpoints.

So the scaling reduces the incoming damage because you potencially have around 1050 Life points less. So a difference of 30 incoming damage still will be outperformed if you doesnt hit your enemy more then 35 times. And healing potions are scaling % wise. so he ticks more LP then the T2 item user.

It doesnt, check the excel file thats attached to the Video. Same on the T2 Gems. Its just fucked up. If I dont use Const in the Gear Pieces and I receive overall less dmg its an scaling issue.

Scaling should just get removed when hitting lvl 60 and thats a fact - Scaling in a PvP Game thats a Grind game is useless, cause I dont need to Grind when I just get T2 Gear on some Pieces.

Also there are 2 Videos :wink: Check his channel to Armor and Weapons and Perks, we also tested it and had the same results and tested it without Const (only Int). We had like 0,1% diff on our Calcs what could be rounding Errors.

Scaling should just get removed at 60!

BUMP - Till a CM can explain the issue - and that this will get fixed same as 250 Str - 300 Int // Mage Perks (Empowered Fireball does Negative dmg)

Also this should not get abused, this should get fixed!
Cause the whole Armor System (stats when it comes to Phy and Elm Armor is useless)

No this is an issue that there is scaling at lvl 60 - There should not be any scaling at 60

Can a CM please do a Statement to it?
That Armor over 560 is legit useless? The dmg diff that u receive (chest as example) is 50-70dmg (vs voidbent, what is atm the most grind shit ever).

There are so many balancing Issues that are not even fixed at the PTR, when it comes to the Perk, but u change classes that are atm in an OKAY state.

U dont fix Light armor vs Heavy scaling and nothing.
I dont know If somebody ever played any MMO or Competitive Game from the Balance team, but I say they dont.

There are so many issues atm when it comes to the Game Math that makes the whole “Grind” useless.
But Devs dont care what u can see on the PTR notes - Perks still broken, scaling issues, Math on one Gem multiplaktive and not Adaptive.

Broken New World stuff :) - Google Sheets (ignore some stuff on the sheet, just posted it from my own excel to sheets)

On the video there is the whole calc, I just did the calc If something over GS 555 is even usefull, and its not. Cause the Crafts are way to Intensive, while u can get ur Perks for the Armor.
Oh yea and the best fact on the crafting System - There is not even a good way that is not RNG asf to get the Weapon “Perks” etc.

I like Grind Games and PvP Games, but that is not even a grind anymore, its just stupid.

@Luxendra I just want an answer, why even on the PTR u just Ignore Issues when it comes to Perk balance. The whole game is just a melee Zerg nothing more in War what is the “Main” aspect of Fraktion System. Insatiable Gravity Well + Malestorm or how the Skill was called can just nuke 8k dmg (we use this in our wars :slight_smile: )
But nothing is getting nerfed when it comes to the classes that have Higher DMG output on AOE then a Mage, but u nerf the mage now to dead (cant even wear Light, cause u guys dont understand that the dmg input is to insane vs that what u lose and gain when u wear Heavy ) for no reason, while the class cant even nuke that much. From a Coding point NW is bad asf, mostly that every Ability when u add a Perk to it is not the “same” spell anymore and u can stack Heal etc still, everthing is more complicated then it needs to be.
tbh, I was defending NW after Patch 1.0.4~isch, but after seeing the PTR changes and If u know the Math etc behind the Game and what is broken when It comes to Perks u just see the Point that the New World Balance team has no knowledege over the whole game and just use statistisc to fix shit, just cause People dont understand still what is broken and what not fully doesnt mean to just look at the statistic.

Nothing that is Important to the War Part is getting changed on the PTR.
Nothing when it comes to Perks or Attributes is correct.
Nothing when it comes to scaling is even noticed, while it got reported after day 1.

I like the Game, but the Devs and the Design Team is so far away from the Community that its just the same as BDO or WoW.

I hope once for a statement to the scaling stuff and that GS is so irrelevant when it comes to PvP that its not even worth to use Time Gates mats to craft shit, cause its just to expensive for zero gain inside the War.

I understand the reason for scaling etc, but that hard scale just makes grinding useless ^^

If there are 2 Komps that know how to play and what good is the game gets unbalanced on a diffrent level, u want to add Seasons etc? Good joke with that Meta stuff, just cause People atm dont know it fully

Yeah knowing that 52 faction armor is BIS for pvp when I grinded for a whole day at level 60 and costs a ton is complete bullshit. This has been reported since release yet they just ignore the issue. REVERT GEAR SCALING ITS BS.

Gear scaling is the biggest bullshit, pls fix this.
