it seems that all classes can be found in PvE/PvP except for tank. If he is not using VG with sword&shiled he is almost useless.
I would like to suggest that his defence stance should soak up the damage done to the players within, so that he is really “tanking” and his role is obvious.
I guess details does not matter now, this is a rough idea which can be adjusted and played with.
How? In normal match everybody will either ignore tanks and go backline.
Tank should TANK. Its bs to make player “aggro” him, but soaking damage in some area around him? That sounds interesting for everyone that I spoke.

im doing fine as a “tank” with warhammer and rapier - its a good initiate combo to get inside enemyline and bait their shit (stun) with reposte + shockwave into a clearout (hit them towards ur squad) - it also adds a lot of survivability. in OPR they completely ignore me, cus i swap to s&s+rapier and kite. Yeah kite, thats my job inside enemy outpost. sometimes between 3-10 people is what im stalling
Sword and board are usually the first in the fort doorway taking attention while some people ether flank or wait for something else to happen.
as a ranged DPS i hate to say it but… i want sword and board to get the phalanx ability. (the blue square shield around some elite named bosses that block all incoming ranged attacks for a short period of time.
would make for better pushes and force ranged dps out onto the ramparts or outside flanking.

If you dont think tanks have a use in pvp, you dont play in many wars.
Without a couple thicc sword and board guys you are not going to take a point without a lot of effort.
Even with healers, bruisers arent hard enough once they stop moving to soak damage, and ranged people dancing about the backline and jumpspamming arent standing points because theyre made of paper.
Yes tanks arent very good for OPR and open world pvp due to minimal chase/gap closing ability, but those arent the only pvp things in the game. They’re actually the two worst pvp experiences available due to design issues.

From what I see in OPR; tanks perform 0 formations & most of the time don’t protect any supports & dps. Only time I see Tanks performing their duty is when capping a point. But even then much of the time It goes south.
In war: Tanks are a blessing
In Dungeon: Tanks are loved
In OPR: Tanks devolve into a pack of K/D ratio.
Buddy in PvP I’d chalk up tanks in formation scarier than tanks flailing their hp pools at the enemy.
