Tanks need incentives in OPR

Believe it or not I am having a ton of fun in BOWPR… I mean OPR… and I noticed a single tank blocking projectiles from hitting me. On top of that he or she buffed other players around him and CCed enemies when they got close so others can dps that enemy player down. Despite how helpful this tank was to me his placement was 40. For this guys efforts he got little to nothing on the scoreboard which I though was a grave injustice for someone who was doing something so noble as to being a bodyguard tank. I use to play as a tank but to switching over to VG/IG has consistently put me on the top ten. I get DPS and Healing is great and all but I think tanks should get points for buffing others and blocking damage. I think this will create incentives for tanks to play OPR, fill that role, and bring some balance to the obnoxious meta of bows.

There really is no tank role in OPR. You’re better off playing a 300/200 con bruiser/mage or a healer. A healer is better at pushing the front lines than a tank, and a bruiser can do everything a tank can do plus they do damage.

AGS would have to change the defensive S&S to allow the shield to block a large area , like a reinheart shield in overwatch, and then they could add a “damage blocked” section to the score board. It wouldn’t be that bad if defiant stance allowed you to summon a large barrier for 10 seconds. The barriers health would scale with constitution and it would have like 20k health, or something like that, at the maximum range. This would allow tanks to lead the charge and block damage for their teammates.

use to play frontline tank, it is fun but still low scoring. I agree there is no space for tanks but their utility is still useful. Frontline tanks hold and push the frontlines. There just isn’t any points for utility in PvP. It is either healing or dps.

Also what about point for capturing and defending points that are contest based of the number of attackers. I feel like that should definitely be a thing.

I think a healer can push the front lines a lot better in OPR than a tank. You need zero support to do it as a healer, but you need a healer to help you excel as a tank.

Yea, they could add points for capping/defending.

I see what you did there…
