Tanks, OPR and Contribution

Weird opinions. OPR and wars are objective based. I don’t need DDs. I just need to stand on the point.

This is among the dumbest things I have ever seen on an MMO forum. Just no.

I’d love to focus on the real issue at hand which is really just metrics for rewards. It just doesnt feel nice to play tank in a lot of pvp content because you’ll always be bottom of the table with minimal or no rewards at all.

I know that OPR and wars are objective based. But that’s not how it is working. You would take the DDs and melt the enemy tanks.

Can’t relate. I always place in the solid middle of the ladder.
Do you respec for OPR? Got a gear set for PvP?
Chances are you’re strongly underperforming if you’re running the same setup for PvE and PvP.

+1 gone from having 60+ assists and ten to 25 kills. To 2 kills 0 assist. No point playing OPR or pvp as a sword shield tank anymore.

A tank is hard to destroy = A healer is hard to destroy.
A sword&shield player is easier to destroy than a healer.
Why would you call sword&shield player a tank in pvp?
In PvE sword&shield player is a tank. Because there are tankbusters.
In PvP there is only sustained damage, ofcourse healers have huge advantage.
I don’t know what’s dumb here. It is just how it is at the moment.

Yeah, played 6 rounds yesterday. Performing as usual. GA nerf is slightly noticeable - but essentially is same old - try to kill anything that is in light armor, ignore anything that is in heavy armor.

I see. I mostly play doors and block projectiles for healers and cc groups. maybe it’s just enough but it still is punishing as hell if there are very few melees in the opposite side.

Well. From what I have seen nothing of what you do is metered.
1.) You need much heal.
2.) You need good K/D ratio.
3.) Now added. You need good assist.
Like it is now, you need to be very cautious not to die. It is weird, but sometimes it is better just to drop the point and not to die. That’s how it is metered.

I never play too defensively. Sure I’ll stand in the door sometimes - but my team taking damage through the door is fixed by them taking a step to the side.

I see my role as pushing the frontline. Those mages firing projectiles at you? They’re afraid of you. They die to melee. They’ll stop firing and start running when you harass them.

Essentially, you want to be on the offensive as much as possible. Even as a tank. Especially as a tank.

OMG its embarrassing seeing all the WH and GA people with their lifestaffs… really pathetic

Think you missed the point that shield isn’t the tank build for OPR. LS is.

You don’t just stand there with right click when you’re a tank. Duh? What do you? Spam left click?

Tanks do block and give damage absorption buff when necessary. Most of the time we are stunning and knocking people down so the dps can kill them. I can get 3 kills 0 deaths and have 40-90 takedown and be at the bottom of the board. A lot of those kills everyone else got is a direct result of the tank. Damage absorbed should result in ponts.

Those guys. don’t know nothing about tanks.
They only knows spawn left click with the GA.

With you already said I can say thet as a tank we can provide 30% mitigation to our team. 30%!!! We can slow down and stun players we can provide buffs to our team. But we have some kind of players that believe a brain dead left click it is the only way to play OPRs.

When I use GA/WH I can play easy brain dead and be on the top of the scoreboard. But when I get SS I can play do my best, play to much better, help more my team and I will never get the same points.

I’m not talking about kills, or make dmg, I’m talking to help my team, make them move forward, keep 2-3 players trying to kill me until my team come and kill them and we get the point. Make yhr brute focus you and ket tje dmg dealers have a easy life.

If you are able to hold 3 players with you, your team have more chance to kill the rest of the enimies, but you are not rewarded for that.

We should score for damage blocked, for get the point and hold it etc
