Target party members with F1-F5

Using scroll wheel to target a party member is awful UX.

Please add the ability to use F1 (self) and F2-5.

(Yes, I realise it’s not a “TAB targeting” game. But we’ve been given a way to target players, so it should be better than a scroll wheel.)

+1 Healers will love this! Please add hotkeys to select each individual party member. F1 - F5 can be the default, but allow them to be customized.

I’m not a healer, but I would never heal because of the current state of group healing. +1 for this change

even auto targeting player with the lowest health would be a start for a single target heal, number of times i rush a heal only to heal myself or a player at full health instead of the one who needs it.

I have seen in the settings menu, that there is a few options for healers. Some looked interesting, that could help when focusing single target heals. Most if not all abilities are basically skillshots I’m this game which makes it very unique.

A guide I can post below I’ve read of the different options if you have not tried these.

Targeted Healing

This allows your healing abilities to be locked on allies, making it easier to land most healing skills.

This option should always be ON. The large single target healing options on Life Staff are incredibly difficult to properly use without this option.

Targeted Healing – Camera

There’s two options here, Freeform Camera and Camera Aim Retargeting. Freeform Camera keep you from locking your view on your target, letting you look and aim freely, but still have your spells lock on. Aim Retargeting allows you to adjust your lock target via aim.

Freeform Camera is MUST. You absolutely do not want your camera to lock to your healing target, especially in PvP as it can and will mess with your movement. Aim Retargeting is only available with Freeform Camera off, and should always be off regardless.

Targeted Healing – Target Lock

Again there’s two options here, Sticky Lock and Manual Lock. Sticky Lock makes you lock on after healing, while manual lets you lock on before.

Sticky Lock should be Off unless you’re casting multiple single target heals or a stationary area like Sacred Ground and a single target Heal. Otherwise locking on after healing will only cause movement issues.

Manual Lock is nicer and preference if you use it or not. It lets you preemptively lock on to a target before healing. Though generally, Cycling through targets via mouse wheel is much easier and smoother.

Targeted Healing – Group Mode

Group Mode only allows you lock on to targets within your group.

This can be helpful in coordinated PvP groups that are made up of multiple squads, each with their own dedicated healer. However it can be detrimental in Wars or if you’re using mostly non-targeted abilities.

As a side note I would also like to see something like f1-5 be used for targeting party members. But again I have only been healed and never healed myself. But let me know if any of the changes above help the healers atmosphere. Especially in full melee comps.

It’s obvious you’ve never healed. The options in game make zero difference to healing. It’s an absolutely awful system. In a mass pvp environment and you want to heal one guy specifically. Don’t worry stand still and cycle between 49 other players until you get the correct one.

Well if you’re in a 50v50 the f1-f5 won’t help you much if the guy you’re trying to heal isn’t in your squad

Yes please absolutely this. The targeting system for healing needs this to work. F1-F5 to Target self and party members. There is no reason not to offer this as an option. Also show party members in red if they are out of range of the spell.
