I think it would be cool to have more things in the game you could do to interact with other players. If you were able to play darts or chess at Tavern with other players, it would give them more options to interact with each other other than pvp or doing dungeons. Also, after all the quests are completed at the Tavern, why not give players the option to buy Ale or Beer or whatever and after you drink enough your guy staggers around and hiccups with your screen a little off? I think it would be funny to see players leaving the Tavern staggering down the road after a fun night of drinking and playing games. I think there would be way more fun experiences for everyone.
Texas hold ‘em tables where you could bet limited stakes with gold.
Honestly card games would be awesome too
LOTRO did this kind of thing in a fun way. There were quests you could pick up for faction rep (not the same kind of faction rep as NW obviously) that would involve drinking beer and your view would go a little blurry, then you’d have a time limit to run to another place on the map and drink another beer. Vision would get progressively more blurry the farther you got, with the time resetting between beers. Finally at the last beer station, if you made it in time, you’d get the rep and some items.
But let’s be honest, they can’t even put a cd on leaving/joining companies or code enemy Sacreds to be a different color, so let’s not expect too much here.
Dancers would be nice… Ladies of the night perhaps back in those pirate days. Poles? Don’t know if those were “discovered” yet.
Idk if I would like running all over the map to drink a beer. I just think you should have to pay coins to buy ale/beer. I think the best part would be to see everyone drinking and off balance. Imagine people getting drunk then going outside the town to duel each other. Drunken duels sound fun lol
Yes the drinks can make you drunk and all of your movements controls would be backwards of a limited time lol
I have many hours in on Lotro and drunk running has it’s fun. You could also just drink beer and get the same results with the blurriest it would all be hazy and you would actually see double of people.
npcs need to be implemented into town to make it feel lively i totally agree this would be perfect to utilize the tavern in some way shape or form. simple little black jack tables something people can gamble on maybe even some interaction with the bartender things of that nature 100% all for this. maybe even some quest lines that involve having to track someone down to recover gambling debts so many interesting things this can have and be very flavorful
Have you ever gotten drunk in Red Dead Online in the moonshine bar and then had a slapping contest with your friends? Funniest thing ever

You want your game to be even more successful? Add a card game similar to how Witcher 3 added Gwent.
Make the cards/card sets/decks collectible by killing mobs, fishing from treasure chests, defeating NPC Card players at taverns. This will skyrocket interest in New World again that’s for sure, basically making a game within a game.
Loved the beer kegs in LOTRO that would teleport you to random places (that you otherwise couldn’t get to in the game, like the bar up in the rafters above Moria’s 21st Hall).
I would love to see card and other games appropriate for the era (especially some version of poker) where I could win (ok probably lose) lots of gold!
Cool idea, that reminds me of WoW when you get drunk, all levels of enemies get seemingly reduced to lure you into a trap. You think you can take that wolf easily and then he eats you alive.
Honestly liking all these ideas. Having little things like this throughout New World would make the game way more enjoyable. Imagine after a war the company that wins is at the Tavern celebrating.
Heya! This is interesting and fun. I think players would appreciate a change like this.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this discussion! I’m excited to see what other players think of this idea.
