the game should whitelist your disconnected character for 3-5min so you can reconnect faster to the game.
having a slight internet disconnection often result in hours of waiting in the queue. it should be fair for people suffering from sudden disconnection to be able to come back quickly.

my day so far:
7:30 am - login
9:20 am - gamecrash
9:21 am - 147 queue
waiting 80 minutes
10:44 am - server connection timout
10:45 am - 697 queue
waiting 3 hours
1:52 pm - login
4:23 pm - gamecrash
4:24 pm - 1578 queue
next login ~ 9:30 pm
This seems like a great idea to me. I got disconnected today due to internet disruption on my end to be faced with a three hour queue to get back in after having already queued for an hour.

Definietly it is needed, even for game restarts, sometimes your pc is working bad or anything else, would be great if you are allowed within next 5-10 min to be able to join back without waiting 6 hours.

My day so far - waiting for 7 hours with one error during the queue that set me at the beginning.
