I think it’s funny lol. It’s like… nope… sirens is closed for the day… come back tomorrow morning LOL
ppl do it to stop the bots. they take them down once the bots give up. this should be taken as a example of how much ppl want the bots gone.
Literally just got here and this tent is preventing at least 2, possibly 3 of the trees in this location from spawning… Even if the intention is to stop bots, its harming players who actively want to farm more than anything else. If I want to spend a day camping a spot I can reliably beat the bots timing wise because I’m on site at the location rather than running laps, they might get 1 tree here or there but I get what I come for at least. With no ability to remove the tent I may as well go look for a different spot that will either be more contested or also probably camp blocked
This method is most certainly NOT being used to block bots in most cases. I personally have seen this done and watched the player remove the camp to collect the node. It is cheating.
This is not true at all, I have seen players doing the exact same thing to grief and be toxic to other players.
Is there a way I can send an unlisted video of proof to you or someone on the team about this issue?
It really needs to be addressed ASAP, it is getting seriously unplayable to farm resources with what players are now doing.
When will AGS just create the better solution for resources… This is how atleast t4/t5 resources should work:
-
Nodes are distributed randomly in each zone among a number of pre-set locations and redistributed any time a new instance is created, e.g. after a game update or server maintenance.
-
Most nodes can be used by each character on an account and will reset (for that character) a few hours after gathering.
You aren’t the first to suggest this… believe me. It has been brought up over and over for a veeeery long time on these forums. AGS has never really aknoweldged the problem since adding flagged pvp. The static spawn system obviously worked fine when the pvp system was different.
Even the very first iteration of Vanilla WoW uses a system of static spawns combined with RNG of which ones pop first.
Im well aware. Played WOW back in 2006.
I stopped playing after WOLTK, how does WOW handle this today?
just started running around morningdale and already found 3 tents blocking silk weed spwans…
you dont even need to complete the tent, just having the ghost of it is enough to cause a problem. Unfortunately this is less a botting issue and more a “if I cant have it then no one can” mentality issue.
that good coz many booting stay in the node …
I don’t know actually, but I do know WoW doesn’t focus on crafting quite as much at this point.
It used to be more important specifically for consumables etc… so resource gathering was a critical part of the game for clearing end-game content.
Point is, this isn’t something AGS hasn’t heard before, they’ve just consistently ignored it. It has been brought up for … YEARS ![]()
Indeed, that is why I also made a post on it, it is getting out of hand.
true. this player for example dropped tent on ironwood spawn to, like he said, learn me some respect xD
this issue needs urgent attention from the dev team
I dont think this is an issue really, maybe even make Tents BIGGER! Always fun to see bots get stuck in them.

This solution to the bot problem is perfectly fine, the issue is with those trying to screw over the bots or just be trolls putting the tents on resource spawns. There’s not enough resource spawns for everyone to farm in high pop. servers for people to be putting tents on resource spawns preventing the resources from spawning anymore until the tent de-spawns from none usage.

- a good solution for this is by making tent rerquest resources very high, i would say attach it to the level, as bigger the level as higher the price. anyways 1 can be used for several ppl

a good way to catch them…
So as a response to the statement that TheFiresideCat said the the forum post (I replied to you because I do feel like this is important information). People do in fact use it to stop the bots. But there are also people who will do it to grief regular players so that they can force them out of the spot they are farming. I had one guy randomly show up to where I was farming wirefiber and started trying to compete with me to get it. Which I mean it’s part of the game. I just went along with it and tried to get what I can while he tried to get what he could. Well I was better than him at getting the wirefiber so he started to placing tents over the place with the farming nodes. I could tell that he was doing it maliciously due to the fact that he replaced a tent when he realized he didn’t have it placed in the correct location. I made a forum post about this issue. But I feel like keeping this in the game to “Stop bots” would be a very poor overall choice because it will still allow people to grief regular players nodes and the issue is that you can’t really ban them for it because you will get 100 post in the forums about how “I was just trying to stop a bot from farming and I got banned.” It is unfortunate that a few bad people ruin the ability for regular players to mess with bots but it is what it is. The community has nobody to blame for the removal of this defense other than themselves. There are also issues with people using tents to block the bridge in front of Sirens making it very difficult to just get into the area. Like when they block off the bridges with tents it leaves players forced to walk up a tree branch over to an area they can jump over the railing to get in. Overall I personally believe the best response to this issue would be announcing that you will ban all people found guilty of using tents disruptively and come up with some way of fixing the issue. Because I can really really see this being an issue with Brimstone sand today.
