Terrible Lack of Customer Service While Suspended For Grinding

Last weekend, I was mining two iron ore for two days straight trying to level up my mining. Since I have been through the beta and the release of the game, I have learned a thing or two about how I would like to play the game. My favorite way of leveling up is tedious because I will sit and wait for iron to respawn. I just so happened to find an out of the way place where I could do just that. When the iron ore would respawn, I would mine it. In between, I would hunt some wolves and get some rawhide. When my bag filled up, I would drop most of my rawhide and then head back to town to level up my smelting with all the ore I mined. After doing this for two days I received an in-game message that my account was suspended due to botting behavior (later on I would get an email stating that my account was involved in exploiting). According to what I was doing in game, I was not violating any part of the code of conduct and was not botting or using exploits.

I filed an appeal and in the appeal I wrote as much detail as I could (the text box can only hold so many words) about what I was doing when I got the message. The appeal got shot down saying that the original suspension still stood until Monday, November 7, 2022. By this point I started getting irritated. I called customer service and sent in countless web tickets as well as emails, but to no avail. Finally as a last resort, I gave customer service one last call. I thankfully ended up with someone who is a gamer and who could relate to what I was going through. He did not work in Amazon Games, but he was more than willing to compose an email on my behalf that called Amazon Games into action. He laid out the entire situation that I just described and attached my screenshot of my in-game message. He also asked that they give me a call so I could talk to someone on the phone rather than an email response. I never did get a call back or even any more emails with information on why I had gotten suspended with little to no explanation. I am enraged at the fact that I was suspended without reason, sent in an appeal for it to be denied, and was not able to reach a single soul to understand what I might have done wrong. As I mentioned earlier, I have been playing New World since the beta and have no interest in cheating or using exploits because I have no interest in getting suspended or banned. In fact, I was stoked about the fresh start servers and how I have a different grind plan this time.

To not have any kind of customer service to speak of to get my account unsuspended is idiotic. Now that my account is past the suspension, I am still left trying to get over my anger and frustration. It got to the point that I started questioning whether I even want to stick with the game and continue playing it anymore. This should not have happened to me and I certainly do not want other people getting suspended without any rhyme or reason and without an depth explanation.

I am sorry to read of your scenario and how you believe the bans have not been correctly applied. Unfortunately, this topic is not suited for the support forums as we do not handle bans or ban appeals via this channel.

We would normally forward you to submit your appeal in a web ticket here Appeal a Penalty - Support | Amazon Games, if you have not already done so but given you mention you already have, the only advise we have left for you is to continue your communication via the Email you received in response to your appeal. Please bear in mind, if you have been informed about this being the final answer to your appeal, you will not be getting a different one by submitting multiple replies or appeals.

In regards to the reason for the ban, you will be informed of the cause in general but no specific details will be volunteered. Please do not submit multiple tickets as that will only delay a review of your penalty.

I got a perma ban overturned in the beginning for being a no-lifing farmer. Good luck. I raised a lot of hell.

Innocent bans did, and do happen. Except for the muskrats. :wink:
