And in return melee guys deal almost twice the damage with basic attacks, have grit and weapons with gap closers. Rest falls down to stamina management, positioning (not burning through your skills all at once like a lot of people do), proper builds (not just spamming GA/WH which isnt a proper setup to gap close consistently unless vs noobs) and using brains. Oh dear
I have an answer to that. Skill ceilling for melee guys (specifically GA/WH sweatlords) is finnaly above their fuckin waist and they cannot adjust their ooga booga mindset and builds to the meta shift like all other classes had to multiple times. Mentality issue more than anything else.

yeah i put my hammer in the bank, no more burst with grav well and iframing shockwave is too easy.
picked up a shield as well and spent some money on some gear (100k~).
not everyone enjoys changing their playstyle 180 degrees each patch or has the resources to do it. i was really enjoying the hammer, and i definitely feel like it got inadvertently nerfed to death.
sure @mikemayhem we can play assassin in heavy, but we dont do a very good job in comparison to the light guys, or guys with spears and that is just a fact, even with the 10% move speed food watching you waddle around opr was pretty cringe and hearing u tell people to get good is even more cringe.

I play med bruiser ga/wh and i think after these dodge changes im selling myself by not going heavy as they seem to have the same amount of mobility on dodge.
I’ve had to switch from heavy at launch to medium. Now medium the past couple of weeks to light armor bruiser build.
Armor balance is very poor atm for pvp. If I played the same build in heavy I would have had nowhere near this result. I do 0-2 opr matches per day so im not in there all the time. This was my second match from yesterday. More of an outlier for me. Normally im around 10-1 or 10-2 with light armor sword + hatchet.
This game was the first time I tried a new build with sword + great axe I believe. Wish it showed my damage instead of healing…but melee med and hvy is dead on Valhalla besides for full CON sword tanks that try to block doorways.
I think you didnt read my post in full so I’ll leave it at that when it comes to your arguments about melee specifically because I dont like to repeat myself too often.
Although I do agree with the fact that the armor balance is shit atm. However buffing heavy armor is mos def not the answer.
If anything this whole system needs a rework with more differences, pros and cons between the armor sets other than damage dealt, received and dodge types.
However before that should be addressed the game is in a desparate need of more content and a complete rework of war and territory system and also the bb issue.
I did, you talked about melee’s not being able to adjust their builds. I showed proof that I have and statement of why I had to for gear and weapons due to light armor kiting being op. Evolve or die etc.

Light armor kiting is not op. Its just that you can no longer W them with GA/WH changes (which AT LONG LAST makes this build no longer universal for every scenario and Z tier for any melee player) and armor type has nothing to do with it as it was already proven in this thread that you can close gaps no matter what armor you wear vs light armor guys. If you cant then thats just a you problem, not the balancing.
Its also funny how people that otp melee str builds complain about lack of variety in weapon choices for str builds but when the meta shift gives them the opportunity to change their builds and adapt their playstyle to what they actually want to achieve (other than being the best at everything) their minds have bluscreens and they choose to rant instead.
Light armor kiting has been railed as op by everyone except some rolly polly boys. You’re not being honest how many situations you can avoid with light armor.
I use it now too for opr arenas and wars even with melee weapons because it is superior.
I did an all time high melee bruiser damage for myself last night in war with 929k damage done in light armor with a janky low gs build with only a few useful percs.
Devs just nerfed LA due to it being op in prior patches. Been listening to New World To Go podcast. They also love light armor but admit it was too strong and the kiting needed to be curbed.
The playstyle is fun. Not trying to take it away. Imo all armors should receive the dodge roll as it is so much fun to play around with. Just change the frequency allowed.
One players anectdotal experience doesnt weigh well against all of the logs of light armor users dominating the leaderboards in every competitive mode of content.
Could you please remind me how many times GA/WH users actually had to change in 180 degrees (which is clearly an exaggaretion born from the rant)? Other than replacing one skill with another from time to time since the release.
And please dont say buying other armor pieces or I’ll crack up xD
Thats again a separate problem because OPR point system is prioritizing damage and kill participation over other things. And yes obviously light armor builds do most damage. Anything else that you need a reality check on?
