Territory control bigger issue than ags thinks

This is exactly the problem and why the rostering for a war needs to change. No more slotting different factions no more same 50 people fighting in every different territory.

Same on the pushing a territory part. I mean I have several ideas from adding “control points” to territories that act like a fort in that it can be claimed. Once claimed the “control points” (these could be lumber mills, farms, mines etc all the shit you would need for a siege) start accumulating resources for the company/alliance/faction that took it. The idea is there is let’s say 3 control points in the territory and holding/taking them grants “war resources” to a collective pool that slowly fills by itself very slowly but faster with each point that has been captured. Alternatively the company that controls the territory can take the points and if all 3 are held they can push the influence back down or slow it with fewer etc When the meter fills if a company contributed 70% alone the dec is theirs if not it gets rolled on the way it is now. (This is only if shell companies are completely gone.) If the points are ignored by all the war will simply be an auction able to be claimed by any opposing company.

Ofc there is a crap load of details to hammer out but the point is if they would stop working on stupid stuff like instruments and focus on getting the base game play loop into an acceptable spot it wouldn’t take that long and would pay dividends in player retention.

well I hate to break it to you but most competitive pvpers are running mainly 2 liners, very few are running bis gear, and the ones who are arent really outperforming those running 2 liners, at that point skill is more important.

What are you on about ? All competitive companies do massive rolls and most of their war roster is full 3 BIs perkers.

no, not all, and most pvpers are running 2 liners, maybe a bis item or two. Bis is a luxary even to hardcore pvpers lol. if u have all bis and your company does roll nights, good for you, just know thats not the majority.

What server are you on ? Edit : thinking all Pvpers run 2 perkers is a LOLZ , my company is pretty casual / friendly and bunch of people have BIS 3 perkers ( resil + shrink fort + weapon perk ) . Pretty much every time I got killed by anyone on CoS they had 1m + GA but surely everyone run 2 perks lol

Best and possibly most simple fix concerning this issue about wars, owning territories, and shell companies to expand ownership:

1.) Gold gets capped at 10K a month, keep town upkeep and whatnot in place, even if losing an invasion. Town upkeep, especially cities, are expensive. This game makes it trivial. That will help with the crazy prices on the TP as well. But they can own as many territories as they want, it just means added costs as their company expands.

2.) Add in war fatigue. This will allow for more players to play, although alts can circumvent this issue. But better than nothing. To say someone sucks in war when it’s the same faces and their alts over and over again, is meaningless. Give the players some time to experience and learn. If they still -CAN’T- keep up, THEN “git gud” will have more weight. Right now, it’s laughable.

3.) Companies that own territories can only reach out WITHIN their own faction. That’s it. Alts can circumvent this, but as wars become more regular, it will be hard to fight on an alt and main at the same time. This problem will eventually ween itself out. They can still merc out slots the company does not have, but it is still within its own faction.

4.) Disable Potato mode, where you make everything super low res, and can see people hiding in bushes from a mile away. Surprised this has not been addressed yet. It really makes sniping more simple.

But leave everything else the way it is. The most simplest fix is the gold cap a territory owns a month. If players want their company to be rich, they can donate to the guild bank or sell items on the TP. The town should not be the golden fountain that never runs dry.

Upgrade the faction gear, so NEW PLAYERS can have a starter set to get acclimated with war. It’s what made the game fun back before we were all fresh 60’s and not close to being BiS’ed out. Or if the faction gear will not be upgraded, give armorers the ability at least two PvP perks at 600 GS, and make the third perk random. For example: main stats, resilient, refreshing, third perk random. We have something similar to that already with the Medley Fair Maestro gear plans.

-EDIT- I just thought about this… make a NEAUTRAL town players can live in, so they don’t have to support a faction they do not want to support, and stay out of the fray. How about joining up with the Soul Wardens to fight a bigger threat that’s looming as Nedenyek gets more powerful? The neutral town will have similar benefits as player owned towns, high storage, buying houses, trading tax at 2.5%, crafting tax at 2.5%, property tax at 1.5% and fixed at that rate.

LOL. Most people don’t care about it now because shell companies can’t be budged and even i they could, most players can’t even get to fight in a War because of how rosters work.
That’s why they were so keen on OPR being released – everyone got to queue instead of everyone getting kicked from a War roster.

All the issues people cry about concerning Settlement and Wars can simply be solved by deleting player control over settlements.
No other game has these types of issues because none of them are dumb enough to let players run servers.

If you think the noob players who can’t get into wars would have fun in a war you are sorely mistaken. They will get absolutely farmed. Anyone who really wants to get into wars practices and gets good enough to participate in them.

Then they will be farmed. I dont care about wars, but i know there are ppl who want to try some. And fact is that wars are now playd by super small group of players on each server and from what we see - even smaller since we start to see alt companies.

So if end game is available to like (14 servers * 500) 7k players. Minus X since there are alts that are taking away wars on multiple servers. But even now 7k while player base is around 150-200k its max 5% of player base. Its insane and ahve to be addressed.

I dont care about some morons swearting hard couse its only thing in their lives that we cant call total failure. Most money is coming from average joe player and most players are avrage joes that want to have fun when they have some free time. And if they want to play wars - let them play wars. Design game so we can have place for hardcore players and sunday dadys to.

Territory control WAR should have never been Company Owning Territory but Faction thing, AI should choose who goes in WAR and whose not.

AI System Territory should choose people in Faction to defend a WAR first and then people who share the Influences Pushes and then players in the faction that have a House in that Territory.

On the Offensive side, the system should chose only 1 ennemy faction and choose which one will be able to enter as who pushes a certain ammount of Influences first

New World was a PVP full loot system drop, now they turned it into a Theme Park, we can see how the whole mechanism is suffering from it ! New World would run better with Factions vs Factions then company vs company !

No. I like idea that there is reason for ppl to group up. Im to old to care abuot this but im sure younger player have a lot of fun staying together and having purpose as a clan/company.

I don’t agree that wars should be for casuals. Wars should be option to all companies having 50 ppl online to play wars. No matter if they are bad in pvp or good. They should hve option to try. But right now all wars ara all the time taken by top companies. This have to be fixed. How? Its up to deves to figure out. But we talk about this in different topic:

  1. force companies to put min. 40 ppl from owning/attacking company into war roster
  2. add penalty for leaving company: 14 days you cant join another one
  3. Infuence pushes: if company already have province - reduce influence they get from pushing vs company that has none. So you have none: you can push in lets say 1h, you have 1 province - sohuld take 2x time, you have 2 provinces? Ok push, but will take x4 time. And so on.

Lot of problem solved. Top companies have purpose - can fight for best provinces. And same time it wont be worth for them to push First Light or sth. Also they wont be able to hold more than 2 provinces in same time.

Make wars competitive with an elo based mmr.

Give seasonal rewards based on performance.

Remove territory control.

This way, companies can fight challenging opponents and dont need to server transfer and we get rid of wealth disparity.

Also, we will finally know which companiea are best.

Still dont understand complainers about war. You are interested in participating in wars ? But u dont have company ? Just make your own find 100 ppl and start organize wars where is the problem ? Even in companies which currently activly takin part in wars are only 100 slots ? so there is no chances u will get there if its full.

Read whole topic so you will undertand all issues. If dont have time then stay in your world.

I read and I know you dont care about wars so why you are writing anything ? I joined after back to this game to a small company and we are recruting ppl for wars, surely we will lose in the beggining before we learn how to coop in new group, but who cares ? People want everything now with putting 0 effort. Most of you only complain and do nothing about to change only want to take away from people who put into this game and their guild a lot of time. This is game not real live you dont enjoy game ? Dont want put some effort to create something new in virtual world? Then leave games probably MMOs are not for you.
