So it seems like they reverted back to when they attempted to fix the lag in Wars, right? Or similarly going back to those old settings…
Because now the issue is back again with laggy Wars… hmm. Guess we can’t win this one. Maybe they should make it so it behaves that way for war or have players turn down the settings if that’s what’s causing the laggy wars.
Hello since 2 days ago i started to expirience LOD problems mostly in ebonscale but also in other locations. Far objects look like they are in 2d also when im far from torches they disapear when i get closer to them they appear again. My drivers are up to date other games work perfect on Ultra settings. I run New World on High but i also checked it on all settings from low to very high and this problem presists any solution for this?

I just started having this issue, I have these same low res graphics in my game since last weeks update. I play 4k and had no issues until this past week… At this point I thought the only thing that’s not broken in this game was mining because I can’t honestly find anything not broken but I just found out the mining amulet reduces ur luck not increase it. Game is beyond repair. Maybe next year guys, this game should have never been released.
Have same problem with textures after last update. Tested everything…different ingame/ Nvid setting, reinstalled drivers, reisnt Windows…nothing helped.

I get the same problem… I thought it was just me.
I also have a problem where trees are blocky in the mid-range. All trees in the distance look better.
This has only happened since patch 1.1.
I would have noticed it if it were happening before… It’s that awful that I couldn’t have missed it.
As you can see, the trees in the mid-range are blocky.
I do believe it was patch 1.1…
Add me to the list of low-render textures until you’re up close since 1.1. I never had this issue in game until the 1.1 patch. Same as described by others above and recommended resolution steps mentioned earlier in the thread made no difference. No bottlenecks or temp issues and drivers up to date. (Win 10, i9-9900k @5Ghz, 3090)

I was able to play fine up until i hit lvl 48 after the games latest update. My game looks and runs terrible.
Shimmering / popping / flashing objects and textures. I dont have Anti aliasing any more since all the edges on objects basically move and are no longer smooth.
Lighting literally doesn’t work unless i move closer towards the source.
Changing my visual settings from very high to low does nothing but increase my frames by 10fps which seems off and the game looks just as bad on either or. This was never the case for me until the last update.
I have tried a fresh install of windows, drivers and the game, followed all the suggestions on this thread and else where and have seen no improvement. Other games work perfectly. This has truly killed the vibe for me and taken the fun out of new world.

I would like to share with you some others potential quick fixes that should be done before jumping into more advanced troubleshooting from the Dev team
Consider lowering your in-game resolution from the settings menu.
Try switching from windowed or borderless windowed to full screen, or vice versa. In some cases, doing so may increase your frames per second (FPS) while playing.
Close any unneeded programs while playing, as these can adversely impact your computer’s performance. This includes web browsers, background programs running in your system tray, etc. You’d be surprised how much the CPU gets impacted by an animated GIF in a minimized browser window on many systems.
Also you can try this:
Ensure your video drivers are up to date.
To determine which video card you have:
Press Windows + R, type “dxdiag” into the Run window, and then press Enter.
Click the Display tab and you can see information about your video card under the Device section.
To update your video drivers:

Set Windows power settings to High Performance.
If your computer power profile isn’t set to High performance, it could be throttling performance.
To access Power Options in Windows:
Press Windows + R, type “powercfg.cpl” into the Run window, and then press Enter.
Select the radio button next to the High performance power plan. You may need to click Show additional plans first.
Adjust your in-game video settings.
From the World select screen, click the cogwheel icon and then select Visuals. If you’ve loaded into the world, press Escape > Settings > Visual.
In the menu, change the graphics quality to Low, and then click the main screen.
If these changes do not resolve your issue, you can change your graphics quality back to your preference.
Clean boot Windows to reduce startup applications/Check for Malware.
Try clean booting into Windows:
Follow the instructions at How to perform a clean boot in Windows. Clean booting into Windows prevents any unnecessary programs or services from starting up, and can help narrow down the cause of your issues. If you continue to have trouble after performing a clean boot, it’s safe to assume that background programs and services aren’t the root cause, and you can go back to your normal startup.
Check for malware:
Malware can cause many adverse effects on your computer. These effects vary widely depending upon the type and purpose of the malware, but high resource usage can be one of the symptoms, which could directly impact your gaming experience. If you have your own preferred antivirus or anti-malware software, feel free to use it to scan your computer.
Reset your video driver software to the default settings.
Video drivers often come bundled with software that lets you set custom preferences, create graphics profiles, and control other video card settings. Examples of these programs are Catalyst Control Center (AMD) and Nvidia Control Panel. These settings can interfere with in-game video settings, which can cause FPS issues. Resetting your software to the default settings may help alleviate issues.
To reset your driver software to the default settings:
AMD:
Right-click on your desktop and select Catalyst Control Center or AMD Radeon Settings.
In the upper-right corner of the window, select Preferences.
Select Restore Factory Defaults.
Intel:

If you suspect your computer is overheating, you can try the troubleshooting at Intel Support to start.

maybe just admit you guys butchered down our graphics to reduce lag for wars. only reason i can think of since changing settings from high to low literally fixed nothing. how is my computer not able to load a wooden post with a lamp on it until I’m basically standing in front of it, on low settings.
like i said, every other game works fine.

Hello GoHi tried every solution you had mentioned two weeks ago and problem presists.
Checked my PC is working fine every app/game i run have no problems at all even AAA titles run on ultimate settings with no problem/overheat its just New World i expirience this kind of issues.
I have this texture thing for a month now , have tried every single possible solution recommended but nothing helps…
how is this still a thing!?

This seems to have been resolved for me. I think it was worth the December patch. Could have been one of the driver updates. I did nothing special on my end.

I had this issue for the last few weeks until today when I believe i fixed it. I will go through my experience and set up, but see what you can do with your own setup
TLDR: I believe the FOV slider broke for some configurations with the last patch.
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X 32GB RAM
GPU: Radeon RX580 Series
- Update your GPU Software Suite (I had a weird thing where it said the driver and the suite were the wrong version)
- Update your GPU Driver
- Disable Dynamic Resolution Scaling. (Fixed all foliage and trees being blurry)
- Pull the FOV slider to 40 and exit. Run around a bit.
- Pull the FOV slider to 70. (Must be the top. I had mine at 68, so not sure)
- Run around a bit
- Exit and restart.

i just dont understand why i have these problems on the normal game client and no problems at all on the ptr client?
Surely its not on my end then? Both downloaded on same ssd , same settings etc…
