It was a trophy stacking exploit to craft 600 GS 100%. Who knows how long they were doing it. Since a few days ago update or last weeks. They could have made 100’s of 600 GS items each person doing it, Move them around to alt accounts they just bought by player to player trade …if no rollback then its gonna hurt.

There are no robots in Albion Online, and when some robot appears, it dies. The community is the police.

This would be the far-and-away best part of a PVP server, it would have a very unique energy to its economy because it would be very player-driven in a very different way.

Fresh-start PVP servers would probably be downright thrilling.

Trophy stacking exploit? Well, I certainly didn’t use it. I made like 35 hammers and got maybe 8 600’s. I thought the crafting issue was the engineering rewards in 3 star caches. I been doing those for a week or so. If you get lucky on the rewards you can make just enough money back to rinse and repeat and build up your inventory of schematics you can craft.

Duopolies are generally not pressured to evolve as much. If Lumberyard gets it’s act together then it could pressure the other two since it’s open source and royalty free.

What I wish we knew is if something in lumberyard was impacting new world people could go into lumberyard and check the source. One example is that Lumberyard contains a reliability layer that runs on top of the UDP protocol. UDP is an unreliable connectionless protocol designed for voice and video communications. Both it and TCP are well known protocols which have decades of optimizations that run down to the network card level. That reliability layer is not accelerated by anything so if there’s a network problem suddenly the CPU is going to be handling a lot of retransmit requests and that’s a cascading effect. Rather like nearly every other MMO out there you use TCP for client data, and UDP for the voice chat feature.

It’s the reason players using WIFI or Cellular have such terrible issues sometimes that nearly always become solved when they hard wire. Just by allowing clients to use TCP they would be removing a lot of system overhead.

Lumberyard itself is actually EOL. o3de is not the same.

O3DE is Lumberyard initially as it was the original source that was developed and rebranded as O3DE. Amazon employees are the top active contributors.

I’m fully aware, but New World does not use O3DE, they use Lumberyard. While some parts of it I imagine are the same, O3DE is a fork, and I imagine the codebases have diverged.

Not sure what this exploit was, but the 40+ items I crafted yesterday gave me a whole two oranges…

I think nobody trying to close gap runs in straight line, but with how much forgiving is the bow atk-speed wise, you can just spam arrows “kinda” where the dude will be, or is, and the truck hitbox will do the rest.

There are good bowmen, I know them, and avoid them like plague, because they will always outplay me while keeping a healthy distance, I can’t do nothing about it, and I shouldn’t, bows are other ranged problems, not bruisers or healers or tanks, so I can’t expect my weapons kit to do CC, melee damage and have enough gap closers to catch a ranger. I live with that, I’m super super fine with that, to each their own.

But a rando with a bow will still make you waste 2 dodges, 2 pots and 1 skill to close the gap, and for what? To use a telegraphed CC? To use a root that lasts for 1 second and can be dodged in place? To rapier away, or zerk away to heal in the woods. Some will produce a spear and face the incoming melee, that’s a choice, but you can’t just say

It’s weird they should be able to identify any transaction to an individual account anyway, that should have been baked in at concept. I know accounts have unique names (should be) but internally they should also have a unique high bit length encrypted identifier (stored server side this is important) or something to that effect. Every type of transaction should have a unique ident as well, these can all be generated at server build no manual input required. Just perm ban any account doing the dodgy transaction during the exploit window. Yes allow appeals but peeps would need to prove they didn’t go out of their way to exploit.

I’m sure they have set up good ways of tracking exploitation these days, they have had enough practice. :slight_smile:

sure, they have had practice but a metric ton of data to go through. in order to have concrete proof… dev’s can lose a lot! by getting ban happy. always work arounds… TIME is all they need; Things will happen and garbo will be taken out.

I laughed pretty hard at this. Give credit where credit is due but you’re gone of the copium if you think this was some elaborate sting operation and not just the usual flaws in their game.

Meanwhile, Crafting stations and Trading Post are bugged. Some trophies are disabled.
