Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening,
I’ve been following New World for over a year now and I’ve been pretty excited for this release as I’m sure many of us have. You gave us a few small glimpses and windows to test the game and break it as much as possible during beta and I really appreciate that level of commitment to make this game a success! I want to make sure that the devs/community managers know that while 90% of the people in the forums are complaining, there’s a large percentage of people I meet in game and/or talk with in discord that don’t share the same sentiment. Yeah, the glitches are frustrating but the core of the game is FUN and the world is massive with some really interesting biomes and areas to explore/grind. And glitches will come and go, mistakes are going to happen and everyone in this forum seems to know everything about anything when it comes to New World and the decisions made behind the scenes.
I do specifically want to mention how great the community management team has been though. The communication via threads, highlighting top issues, giving answers to multiple threads that are popping up every minute is exhausting. If anyone here CANNOT appreciate that and has negative feelings towards this statement, you probably have little to no experience working in any type of customer service environment or your job is a unicorn (some of you may not get that reference). Also, the dev corner update was actually such a great idea, i’m really looking forward to more updates that are coming out around some specifics of the game that are currently up to speculation.
I’m not trying to brown nose although it may seem that way, I just want the devs and community team to know that there is a chunk of the game that supports you and while we are still going to be critical and have expectations, we are a BIT more patient to what’s going on. And all of your hard work is MUCH appreciated. Also, people posting about quitting after 200+ hours of gameplay out of frustration will all most likely come back after things settle down.
Thanks,
ThomasofArc
