Thank you for fixing elemental wolves, please adress resource converter crafting costs

I’d like to thank AGS for fixing the elemental wolves. Now wyrdwood is worth something and logging feels more rewarding. This is the type of balance the game needs.
Next in line for balances that the game really needs are:

  • nerf crafting costs for converting refiing components
  • T5 trinkets should require orichalcum ingots to craft instead of silver/platinum to be on par with weaponsmithing/armorsmithing/engineering
  • remove potion drops from npcs, and make them obtainable only through arcana (make crafting potions rewarding)
  • nerf repair kit crafting costs to make them more commonplace

except instead of logging being more rewarding you get a bunch of people semi-afk spawn camping the the ~20 spawn points for wyrdwood.

edit: at least starmetal is more spread out, so harder to camp by a handful of people

T5 trinkets can be crafted with orichalcum ingots (or even asmodeum). And you have to do it to get a decent gear score. I do not understand what you would like to have changed here.

You can craft 550gs trinkets with platinum.

Don’t see why or how it would be better. Precious metals are already worthless enough as it is.

Yes, make crafting harder for those who haven’t reached 200 in Jewelcrafting. Brilliant idea, genius.

Please explain, how you do that

You craft components with platinum and use those. You get a basic 485gs
+15 from food
10 from gear
15 from trophies
20 from having 200skill jewelcrafting
+town project
+necklace with jc mastery
= 560gs trinkets with platinum

this is unfair because weaponsmithing and armosmithing requires orichalcum ingots for level 60 crafts and don’t alow for starmetal/steel/iron usage in endgame.

I get a min GS of 536 with orichalcum based stuff (gear + jewelry + food). I did not try with platinum, though.
There are no JC trophies and the town project is exactly intended to increase the GS but rarely available.

did you actually try this or are you just assuming (and basing your conclusions on obviously wrong assumtpions)?

And just to add this: I very much disagree that the wolves are fixed. They are a useless waste of time now. I got 2-6 wyrdwood from them per animal and after the 4th I stopped chopping those. Compare this to normal wolves giving like 20 hides. I rather chop an occasional wyrdwood tree.

I agree with removing potions from NPC loot tables but I think making them solely come from Arcana is a bad idea. It forces people to interact with a crafting skill they may not understand or want to use; so maybe adding a Potions NPC would be better?

I think an amazing change for repair kits would be… when you use one to repair, it takes the durability ABOVE the maximum (i.e. you get a buffer/boost). Then there’s an added benefit to using them. In the meantime I make them to store my repair parts but I never even consider using them… 99% of the gear that drops is worthless so my salvage is constant.

I do this everyday couple of days with jc. I craft 30 jewels 520-560gs, buying everything from trading post. It cost 40coin for each cut gem, 500 coin for platinum and 500 coin for azoth worth of 30 crafts. I sell jewels for 300 (trash), 1000c(luck), 500(gathering luck), dex+crit/healing+focus/etc 3000-4000c. I think it’s unfair in comparison with armorsmithing/weaponsmithing/engineering.
While I made a good 300k coin from jewelcrafting and I have a feeling i equipped the whole server with trinkets, I still believe it’s unfair for other professions. lvl60 jewels should require orichalcum to even the field.
I just want to point out that I had to make this much coin to come to the conclusion that jc needs the metal restriction to be on par with other professions.

If it isn’t for T5 Trinkets being able to be crafted with Silver or Platinum, both of those would literally be worthless.
