Literally every game with static resource locations has had online maps for 20+ years. There is no legitimate way this can be called “abuse”, it’s INDUSTRY STANDARD. If the devs are too lazy to implement randomized locations or other mitigation schemes, that’s on them.
I didn’t realize I was both leaving the game and cheating. Wow! Who knew, besides you. So, a mini-map on same screen is cheating (even though expressly allowed) and using a 2nd monitor is not cheating. You know… Discord isn’t expressly allowed, but it enables communication and coordination that isn’t possible in the game. I wonder when it will violate to ToS and disrupt the situational awareness that so many are quick to claim.
I expressed my displeasure. I started a conversation. AGS knows I am not alone because many have responded as well. So, who knows.
Yeah, one more frustration to the players that possibly would play that game longer than these hysterical people that soon will be looking for a new game because is how their brain works, all the surroundings keep screaming on their heads.
That is why I created that post. Even believing the problem is beyond that, their decisions on changes and features lack deep analysis and care about consequences.
Amazon clearly wants you to use their trash compass that the resources don’t even pop up on most of the time. It’s more “immersive” to sit and relog everytime it stops working so that you can use it again.
I’ve been playing on a single monitor with no add-ons just fine.
ok, out of curiosity, i have two monitors but i am not sure what a second one will accomplish as NW locks it to one screen so i wasnt aware it could have two. What am i missing??
This is such an asinine thread. OP complains that a third-party tool no longer gives advantages over what is offered solely ingame.
There’s literally nodes like every couple of meters and once you play the game enough, you know where everything is anyway. Even in its broken state, I’ve not had to use the HUD compass except in my first few days of gameplay.
It’s this braindead reliance that irks me more than the AGS decision to include/not include mininmaps. Everything needs a quest marker, everything needs an arrow on the ground pointing where you need to go. Everything needs to be highlighted on a minimap where rocks and plants are.
Buy one for him.
I remember the days when MMO didn’t even have a map. I had to make my own. Never have I felt this game needed a minimap. Just learn the areas and use eyeballs it’s not very hard.
They need to fix the compass bug though, features actually present should work.
If the game is too simplified for you just move on.
I mean if you do not enjoy gathering without these type of accessories, do not gather. I love to gather and do just fine without Overwolf or a minimap, and on top of that, on the most populated server.
Well, if you want to play a game following «industry standards» you got a ton if options out there.
I for one, is really happy to have something different from all the other games.
So AGS; please keep following your own ideas, if people want standard mmos they can play a wow clone.
It was not AGS decision - it’s people decision to “play a webpage”.
I’m a crafter myself and I fully support AGS’ current approach to 3rd party software.
I’ve never used any external helpers simply because there is no need for that.
There are plenty of landmarks that can be used for navigation so if someone has problems with exploring and memorizing a few routes then that’s their problem not a flaw of the game.
If the game is to hard for you just play checkers
I like how you cherrypicked that one single argument and ignored all the others. Aimbots aren’t a basic feature that people expect when they play a game, a minimap with proper resource tracking is. It is absolutely ridiculous to compare it to actual cheats and hacks. What Amazon’s rules say right now are irrelevant, we are asking for their position to change, that’s how this works. Resource tracking through the addon should not have been banned until in-game resource tracking has the basic functionality anyone would reasonably expect.
You don’t need a minimap because you play it casually.
