I think they should only merge 500 and below servers.
Anyone in medium pop can transfer to high pop at whim.
AGS shouldn’t be in charge of who is medium and who is high pop as they have paid transfers.

Agreed.
I mean it doesn’t take much when there is only 4 us east servers and 1 SA East server. It’s pretty apparent every time new content comes out people come back to check it out. This is the way it is for almost any game. I mean just think about this weekend when you have people who want to return hit a queue and say nah I’ll play some other game. This is just going to drive players away who wanted to check out the patch but got stuck in a 300 person queue.

I really think AGS underestimated how little games are enjoyable atm and people rushing to see next new update for every game they own

On Orofena, I go from 1 in que, up to 11, back down and then back up…this is a little nutty.
they’ve said this is a visual bug so you just have to wait it out.
I pressed log in at 8, and I had the afk timer at 838.

The funnest thing about this queue is that I’ve been every position in queue from 1 to 10…and not in order. First I was 8th, then 1st, then 5th, the 1st, then 7th, then 9th, then…

Because they needed them. West is down to 2 servers and still dont fill up. This is a phase that will pass. If not then they can open more. Its better to have a queue for a week or so then to have dead servers that cant even function for months on end.
Yeah and you already know the problem of that. One or two sweaty guilds move and one server becomes dead again. People aren’t going to keep spending 15 bucks to change that situation.
Because people in US west felt like they were need in US west, then why merge many US east servers at the same time, right before a new content patch then cause queues on 3 of 4 of the US East servers? Why not just merge the US west servers that were having issues? If your server is dead and you cannot afford the 15$ dollar transfer, why not allow them to apply for a transfer with xyz reasons? They don’t need to give everyone free tokens I don’t believe this is the solution, but on case by case, if it had a valid enough reason for wanting to transfer,sure why not?

/shrug. They dont communicate or handle the servers well. Never have. They left many servers dead for many many months. Because of transfer tokens it just alternates which server that is. Someone is always going to be upset. Having people spend 15 bucks every other month isn’t the answer though.
AGS did the right thing and I stand by them. The timing of it was unfortunate, and I think the queue times will be worse come the new Dungeon and then the mutation of it thereafter. If anything, the mergers should’ve happened after the content drops to see who remains after the new content has cooked for a while, and then the reality of mega companies spoiling the end game PvP, and people leave again, because there’s no hope to gain a territory.
If anything, this should be addressed very soon. It should be a faction benefit, not only the companies that run the servers into the ground and low player counts worldwide. Then maybe, AGS sees players return, and we can bring back servers again, one by one.

Merging is fine, merging with no communication and without heavily fielding it by the community is dipsy-dum-dum.
It’s a massive game design issue. The servers are doomed to spend 90% of their time overpopulated or underpopulated.
