Luck is the stat in the game to mess with your head. I don’t believe in luck either.
Luck works. Or worked. At least gathering skills luck 
You can confirm that if you drop specific items that require 1800…2600 etc luck, to unlock them to drop.
In skinning luck too, without luck, you got less materials.
For example rabbit foot. Used to get 2-3 in 15 kills without luck, and 6-7 in 15 kills with full luck.
But the wierd part is armor and weapons luck drop.
I spent countless hours and tuning orbs in genesis to get my the named spear, and the lazarus bow from lazarus. All with full luck, but never got them.
Then removed the luck jewels and left only luck armor on, and got both of them in the first runs.
Probably it was bugged back then, too many luck items didnt work ( used full luck jewels armors shield + pearls + turkey leg)
Well…that was before mutations were added in game.
Idk now if anything changed
Yeah I was pointing my finger at Armor and weapons luck
