Companies focused on casual players because they make up the bulk of gamers. There are far more casuals than hardcore.
Removing the expertise just removes a shitty unfun system that acted as a barrier that is no longer needed.

But you arenât earning anything from being good. Itâs a participation trophy.
I donât think anyone would be upset if the best PvP gear was given to the best PvP players and if the best PvE gear was given to the best PvE players.
Youâre basically saying, âlog in every day and do unfun chores for a few months before âearningâ the right to enjoy the game.â
Casuals are irrelevant as they disappear quicker than they reach certain milestones in any game. It is a great approach if you have subscription as you benefit from cardboard people, not so much if itâs one off payment.
And certainly allowing someone who didnât even reach mid game, decide something is illogical. But armies of armchair experts seems to become really popular nowadays.
That I can agree with, rewards only for the best players as they spent the most time in game to accomplish something.
As long as it is not participation trophy of âyou logged in, you have the same status as someone who spent hours inâ.
Lmao, if I had a plate of fries I could salt them off your posts.
Either way appeal to casuals is a strong market motivator. I donât think AGS is going to stop trying to appeal to them anytime soon.
Yeah it is going great xD
Just wait to you get to 600 and try to get 625 GS on a few sets. Then the real struggle starts ![]()
Agreed, its like grinding by yourself for ages until you finally get to play the game lol. Why would anyone like the expertise model. Fresh 60 500gs, gratz now you can do nothing with anyone in the community
600-625 is the best system ever u just farm shards 0 RNG, 0 honing u just farm and u get it
real casual and pvp players friendly. Of course it must take same time to maxout gear but this is a way how it should work. I hope they will figure out something similiar for 625-650.
I wouldnât remove it but I would cause items to drop 15-20 gear score higher than expertise and bump expertise in the 500-600 range. Make it super quick and easy and get folks right on the actual umbral shard grind at 600.
Buddy. What are you talking about?
The expertise system we currently have is the exact same system we had previously had when it was referred to as âwatermarkâ but now there are numbers next to each slot.
The watermark was invisible and you needed to track it yourself. I used a spreadsheet, then we had websites that saved the info.
It seems like you are describing how loot drops in the game. Ok. Great. Are you grumpy that you can use a currency (shards) to create an item rather than the fun of finding new loot in game? Ok. Sure that is different.
Nope, watermark was actual progression. Expertise is a choke hold on progression that only exists to slow people down through pointless gates.
As I am a retuning player, the XP farm is much more easy and reliable with fun. I just played 28 hrs and leveled up from 48 to 54. The devs are making the game friendly for all the users because in upcoming days there will be new content to explore which will need more time.
The only solo activity I could find was farming cloth, making a lot of gold - but boring after a while.
Without solo activity, the rest is irrelevant.
OPR and arenas seems to be also solo activities for most of the players.
This is not really true, I consider myself to be pretty decent at pvp and I have come across players who have no clue how to fight and can barely get a hit on me, but because they are so uber geared out I cannot produce any damage towards them, they could stand there and it would take me a full minute to kill them. This takes away from a lot of skill based players and now they have made it you have to grind out even more crap after you hit 60 to be even close on par with someone else who is geared out. They should have left it all skill based and left the gear stats for PVE. I remember when the game came out it didnât matter what gear you had you could have some really good fights with people way higher level than you and then roflstomp them cause you were the better fighter not the better geared out player ![]()
So mister knight in white shiny armor, replying without even reading to what I replied?
He started getting aggressive and calls ppl no life then go to victim mode saying how he have no time and how he cant catch up.
U have a limit of 25 expeditions per day now. U can reach 600 expertise in a single day. If u cant do it in 1 day then do it in 2, 10 or 100 days but dont expect and demand to be âon topâ if u cant spare some time. We all play as long we can or as long we can afford to.
New World is one of the few ânewâ games that good population boost in middle of summer when so many ppl are going in holidays. So yeah, his statements about populations are based on nothing but repeating some craps he read on forum, nothing to back up his words.
Lost Ark - Steam Charts - lost ark -28k
ELDEN RING - Steam Charts - elden ring -2k
New World - Steam Charts - new world +1.9k
About population look how all games after first month are loosing around 200k or more players. Cuz the hype of the release. In about 6 months u will see the realistic players base.
âŚ
But you are confusing âbest playersâ with âplayers who have the most /playedâ âŚ
And these are nowhere near the same thing.
They require different rewards, imo. If you can complete harder content on you first day as someone who has been playing for a year⌠Then why not? That means skill is involved. And rewarding skill is the goal. There can be SOME rewards for time spent in game, but they shouldnât be the best and they definitely shouldnât make you more powerful (your time playing the game should make you more powerful).
I really donât know how people can complain about expertise system. Iâve been playing really casually, running elite runs and dungeons, and I have absolutely nothing towards expertise system from 500 to 600. Itâs going pretty fast, obviously slowing down when you have more and more stuff maxed out (600), but there comes gypsum! 2 from dungeons, 2 from OPR, 2 from Fraction Shop. and 1 from elite run! This is so much gypsum/umbral that I really donât know how people can get mad about it. The expertise system is something that most of the people encountered. It is really not bad but people just demand to progress super fast playing so little
You are not getting something. To be the best in anything in life, you must simply spend the most time on training plus you need to have deep understanding on what you are do.
Without time spent, you will not be the best, simple as.
