I agree with the OP. I agreed that the jump thing needed removing (I never used it anyway) but the way they’ve fixed it is bloody really bad. Please just fix the fact that you can jump immediately. Being able to dodge after any attack is essential for everything in the game. The added delay is horrible not just for PVP but for everything.
U forgot to mention a 20% damage nerf from “fixing” Concussion!
Bow is done for. They can delete it. BTW each arrow costs 1 coin on my server. And we pat that for garbage damage. Sweet!
Yeah its clear as day, its been this way for ages, i don’t even play mage but when they remove things like being able to dodge cancel the pillar of fire animation proves they are trying to make the skill ceiling and floor both really low so everybody feels like they are good. The Games pvp will be dead if they keep going in this direction, animation cancelling and tech for each weapon are the healthiest things for the games pvp and they are determined to remove all of them.
The whole point of GA was a mobility/control build and they gutted that cause dex cried. It a melee gets in melee range of a bow user there should be punishment
i revived an old thread i made because it is becoming more and more accurate.
Eventually every weapon, dodge animations, added recovery and buffer periods will be added to all weapons and classes. Stamina will not have any effect on any recovery period for melee, range, or mage. Direction of combat is headed in a terrible spot. This time the bow got hit hard. But other weapons and general combat will be getting hit too (already has once in the buffer window patch in december). Just wait. More to come.
Dude, you cant balance a war game for 1v1 combat. And in war, rapier is not even close to other weapons.

yesterday i saw best player on server that is prety much unmatched in light armour bow and on pair with yinus lose from medium armour bow random guy who never duels.
its all about spaming shots from distance where medium armour shines and luck …
so skill gap is already way smaller then before since everyone needs same build.
one or 2 more steps it will be like throwing dices.
just random luck.

they balance the game to destroy dueling and anything that shows some skill.
thats why no arenas rankings end so on…
so guys that farm gear all day for months and years and cut trees all day long have edge on top 1% pvp players or be exact same coz no skill gap when gear is same just luck or endless draws with pots .

Nerf this piece of garbage weapon. does 15k damage to light armor user which is the meta, almost one shots heavy armor, and on top they have infinite rolls from dex, and even more with jumping that causes iframes and no cc to register. axe players also need 23 minutes to catch up to any bow, from windsward to ebonscale. And when they do, they just get CC-ed from BOW.

Note: Buffing underpowered classes is better than nerfing another class. With that said, what are you complaining about?
In a game that is not tab targeted, the build with the most iframes will win if both players are equally skilled. Thus, medium dex with hearty, nimble, and the rapier is so strong because of the iframes. If you want to win 1v1s, swap to the best meta for the opponent you are facing. However, 1v1s don’t mean anything in this game right now. It is only for fun.
You need to consider three scenarios. What do you expect the bow to excel in?

1v1 pvp. (Iframes or just straight countering the appointment always win.)

Small scale pvp (3-10 players at a time)

The bow can do the highest standard attack damage without modifications but you also want it to have the fastest attack speed? If you have a video breaking down the comparison please share. The only one I can find with the recent ptr patches is:
It is still by far extremely fast and in a great spot to increase the skill ceiling.
This minor change will have little effect. As you play better people, you will realize that medium armor is optimal if you truly want to come out on top most of the time due to iframes
Edit: The only issue I see right now is with the VG. If you compare CC durations, buffs, debuffs, healing, and damage: it comes out as a king and jack of all trades and should have it’s CC and buffs adjusted slightly. Never seen a weapon created to do everything. Especially if you consider the bug dash it can do

I am not sure what build you go, but a top geared bow dex user could hit someone in light buff (medium chest) with full onyx gems for 5k and 6k with keenly empower proc.
Medium builds leaning physical around 1500 armor and full onyx would get hit for around 4-5k (upper end with keenly empower)
The average health pool is probably 8-9k. Maybe slight skews toward the high end due to the majority of players being melee
That is with doing the same jump animation in that video at 25-50 meters.
We should work to get damage numbers and scenarios on video before the PTR patch for comparison. If it ends up being a larger than expected drop off, they will probably go in the middle at some point.
AGS is probably also considering how easy invasions are now that people go 30 bows and win easily.

I have been running the medium bow rapier build forever and it is dead with the .33 second delay.
The bunny hop was needed due to bows aim animation.
I swapped back to light armor as the rolls help compensate for no bunny hop.
Everyone in Xaryus youtube comment section asked him to play it in OPR, which he has not done, because he would get his cheeks absolutely clapped by the VG IG meta with bow.
I think bows have to go back to light armor, which may be terrible for 1v1. I am still experimenting.

can you explain how to use keenly empowered coz it last only 5 sec.
and bow has longest shooting time by far cant double spam and has to dodge plus evade after every second shot if you miss one or first doesnt crit.
thats all well above 5 sec.
combine that with 7k hp and medium range that empowered you mention is the worst perk in the game for bow after patch.
only good in pve.
Arguing with a mage that makes videos about why bow/rapier needs to be nerfed is pointless. Or arguing with all the GA/WH guys about every other weapon they want nerfed.
The only viable setup in PvP next patch is GA/WH or VG/IG… they want everything else nerfed and have succeeded.
