The companies in New World

This game does have an extremely toxic playerbase. But I guess it is to be expected.

It is heaven for exploiters and cheaters.
It’s heaven for RMT
It’s heaven for imbalanced PvP where perks and stats are very convoluted and if you know all the hidden little tricks you will have extreme advantages over others.
At the same time the grind is very lightweight, you can go from level 1 and get up and running and be competitive (if you know what you are doing) within a week. No other mmo has such a lightweight grind.

There are many awesome people in the game and I meet wholesome people every day, but with all these factors it does attract a lot of low hanging fruit, that’s for sure.

Agreed. Add to that most of the playerbase aren’t from other MMOS. The majority that I have met are from PVP and FPS games, NW was their first MMO. Most don’t even know what Holy Trinity is, and you see DPS trying to tank mobs constantly. I really wish AGS had not initially marketed this as a Full-on PVP game. Even though they changed the direction a year before launch they still managed to attract that crowd. At least that’s my guess.

Nw will always be known as a pvp centric game. That is the public image and honestly that is very much what the game still is.

The endgame is war. Expeditions are just a low tier activity in the endgame. So is chestruns. So yeah it deffinitely attracts the PvP crowd and also non-mmo players because it is action combat and for those that like third person medieval action combat games (Of which there are very few in existence) New world is certaintly one of the best options on the market, currently.

Not disagreeing over general immaturity and toxicity, but–

immature boys, and petty toxic females

This is New World, not Reddit. But it seems like her comment applies to you so I guess you’ve got that bit going for ya! :stuck_out_tongue:

You know what, that’s fair. This not being Reddit, that is. So I’ll elaborate.

People who call women “females” online (while also referring to men/boys, and not “males” in the same breath) have probably never had a meaningful interaction with a woman IRL. :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s it. Carry on.

My use of the word females was very deliberate. And being as I am a woman, I understand very clearly when others are being toxic, petty, competitive, and nasty for no reason.

Not every company is filled with toxic children lol.

I’ve found several, and met some amazing people over the last year.

I understand all of that completely. And like I said, I’m in agreement on general levels of immaturity and toxicity… I’ve been a part of many gaming communities, and this one is, uh, special. But people of both genders fit that description here, so call them out for being sh**heads and not their gender, because one of those things is not relevant here.

My two cents.

There are good people here as well, as there are on any game. You just may have to dig a little sometimes to find them, because the toxic ones are pretty loud.

Most of the “great” companies/communities that youll still see for years to come being successful in other games have already wrote NW off completely.

THIS. I am afraid so too. When AGS borked the game it also alienated many renowned “multigame” communities that have solid reps in the gaming world. The only one I see present is OTG. But its a shame many more didn’t stay in New WOrld.

Bait not taken.

I understand some people can be toxic but drama what makes the game good lol. Imagine open pvp be like

There is definitely a problem with some companies and Toxicity. On that end I feel pretty lucky I seem to fall in with some of the chiller groups. And even when I was in a sweat company they were pretty chill. Just a matter of finding those people alot of the chiller ones keep to themselves.

no less toxic than any other pvp games tbh

Compared to my many years in ark, toxicity in new world is pretty mild imo.

My experience is a lot of the companies inviting and randomly inviting are solo players looking to increase their cap for money by owning a company.
