Actually, in Lost Ark, you don’t need gear to be the best player in Ranked PvP. A team of 500 item level players can completely crubstomp a team of 1350 PvEers.
it’s realy not free you have to invest time just like any other activity (or you consider every thing is free in this game) it’s tied to performance but if you perform relay well you’r don’t have much reward while if you get stomped you’r basicly fcked (500 xp)
And to make things worse the “bis” you get is random you may not find a use for you’r build yuou would tell me “sell it” kicker being you can’t it’s bind on pick up.

I had this company member, who was running with no Resil and had like 300k gold.
When i asked if he can buy purple pieces to get full 5 set for 20k, he goes No its too expensive.
I was like wtf? Its gonna keep them up for any PVP whatsoever, and they are just too cheap.
But in GvG yes but in Lost Ark u dont have any special perks u just buy 1 relic gear mostly for pve and thats all Everyone running Nightmare set or Entropy. In New World you can make hundreds gears and every can be unique ofc if u understand what you are wearing. But really as I said you before rankeds are kinda dead esp. If u have higher than bronze rank, due to dumb MMR system … but as I know it will be reworked.
what are you talking about, you can play her in the jungle but she dosn’t provide anything to the team and to make things worse you loose the passive that make you be strong in duo lane.
But imo the range issue may make her unplayable in pro play.

Well, you dont have to do it. Anything on 600 with purples is enough to be top leaderboards in war/opr or to outplay and kill a 1v4/1v5 just like i do in those vods. To say otherwise is stupid.
When we make alts on different servers, you think we get BIS items? No we rock cheap purples and beat the living shit out of players who are BIS’d.
Anyways it doesn’t change the fact that compared to other MMOs. The cost of gear to be viable in PvP in this game.
It does, You’re just ignoring the facts. Cheap purple sets for ANY CLASS right now is not more than 20k for a full set. And you dont need legendary items to kill people. Moreover if you do OPR’s you will get all of those sets for free right now after the last patch.
Which is why the New World gold selling business is booming in this game.
Gold selling business is booming because people like OP and maybe you are too stupid to realize you dont need BIS items to compete or defeat players. People with your mindset about BIS and money to spend IRL are buying shitty items thinking thats the diff. Its not.
Go check DawnGuard roster’s gear, Majority of them rock purples because it doesn’t matter. Legendaries give advantage to bad players in a way that they wont die super quick, but they will still die because they are bad players.
Just think about it for a second. If gear didn’t mean much and skill was the deciding factor instead of gear. Then gear wouldn’t be sold and brought for 350k and up for each piece.
I already gave you the timestamped VOD from my POV in the post above^. Everything I run is purple except smooth bone ring and champions ring, yet I can 1v4 yellows in a fort. Same yellows who i am hitting for 657 crits and some of them are BIS’d out.
You played well in that video but those dudes were OBVIOUSLY aping and no way were they, “top PvPers,” they didn’t dodge anything they just facetanked you like apes chasing a banana.
The dude with the hatchet was LMB spamming into oblivion.
The GA was free casting with 0 tactics, straight aping.
The paladin is a gutted class.
You used oakflesh against apers that probably weren’t even fooded up and neither class is good against Bow/Spear unless the Bow/Spear is bad.
Not saying you’re bad, nice gameplay but man, you can’t say you are PvP’ing top players and post that fight. lol.

I can agree and 100% say that purple gear makes you viable in PvP.
I’d say 100k and you can purp out a set if you’re buying armor, PvE drops are like 80% of the way there for a good weapon. Pre-patch a RM/Thwarting GA was 100k alone and was miles ahead of any of the PvE GA’s. Now we have The Hook, but this was pre-patch.
I have PvP’d in all 2 perkers essentially and have multiple sets for different things, Heavy, Med, Light, mix of Shirking, Freedom, Resilient and I have topped OPR on multiple occasions, I’ve finished wars with comparable stats to the top melee in wars a couple times (I’ve also been dumpstered, lmao.) all with 2 perk gear. Only 3 perk I had was BG’s WH.
You can definitely PvP in 2 perk and skill can make up for the gap but I think the thing that people trip on is the fact that you get a good PvPer in 3 perk against a good PvPer in 2 perk and there’s a pretty solid difference. Put them at equal skill and it’s almost futile.
I duelled a top PvPer when he was on his alt and he had 580 GS but no resil or shirking as he wasn’t 600 expertise yet and hadn’t grinded gear for his alt and I dumpstered him. I would NEVER dumpster him on his main. That’s the difference.
You don’t NEED BiS to compete. You need BiS to be effectively competitive because the good PvPer’s do have BiS. So not only should you be good, you need to be great and almost perfect to make up the gap.
No disagreement with 2 perk gear being viable as I have been doing it for hours upon hours, but 3 perk BiS does make a difference. It can take an immaculate PvPer to almost a god amongst men.

look servor histori you’ll find out than more often then not guild who get everfall first keeps it until merge (since new everfall owner came to the party) / or loose it to windwar owner and vice versa. I have been trough multiple merge and 5 servor and it was always the case. tho you could say they had the better player wich it’s certainly possible and most of the time it was true (beacause they bought them gave them gear and send them to battle).
You’r not wrong but gearing have far greater impact in war than what you think.
Yea you don’t defenetly, tho last night (like literaly) i got given BIS by someone i was playing with before i took a break. Sudddenly i double my dmg in opr and i reach leaderboard.
Both skill and gear play a hudge factor problem isn’t that gear playe a big one it’s that aquiring this gear is tedious (and it doesn’t have impactfull gameplay change it’s nothing but stat)
In a pvp game what matter should be you’r choice.

As for the video, I mentioned they are BIS’d out when i referenced the 1v4 ones. Go try a 1v4 vs players who got shirking fort resil to the bone when you’re hitting them for 500 while they hit you for 900-1200, then we’ll talk.

I’m not sure what you’re implying here.
its a glass cannon rapier with 50 con, and the guy was rended with riposte. So that damage is acceptable because you die just as quickly as them.
Its hard when you fight a group of pvp’ers where some of the players have full shirking fort, its really hard to come on top. You have to rely on the fact that they are worse than you, or you just lose. I don’t oakflesh unless its very obvious i will lose a 1v4 if i dont because they are hitting so hard and taking so little damage.
Anyway, the point is AGAIN purples are viable and you dont need BIS. If you think you do, you just have to improve your gameplay.
It’s really easy to make gold really fast.(if you already have gold)
But in all seriousness go out and do some mutators, some pretty nutty gear is dropping these days.
I only used it once in a 1v3, because they were hitting super hard and I didn’t think i could kite them from each other to make the fight even. Afterwards i hit hard because they kept getting rended when they thought they would kill me.
As for why they use 0 tactics, Most players think a 3v1 is an auto win. I capitalize on their stupidity.
