As a Solo player who doesn’t do much PVP or any Dungeons, this Expertise is ‘killing my buzz’ for New World.
I have a limited time to play the game everyday and in that limited time for the past three or four weeks I have been chopping wood. Lots and lots of wood. I was working towards leveling my Engineering so that I could make Warpwood, a Legendary 600 GS Bow. It was going to be my first Legendary and I was pumped. I figured I would finally have it by the end of this weekend. I thought wrong.
Talk about a gut punch. Almost a month of grinding, gold for special mats, and cooldowns on special materials for a bow that isn’t even as good as the one I’m already using. I’ve put a lot of effort in, to have the rug pulled out from beneath me.
I’ll be checking back periodically to see if this gets fixed. but for now, Peace out!
Usually mmos do well in catering to all types of players from casual to hardcore; solo to groups. New World only caters to hardcore and ppl who can find groups easily.
Definitely feel you there. I’m 80% sure that crafted 600 gs items retain their 600 status, so that might be a visual bug?
But in any case, I’ve always found the legendaries you can craft to be very underwhelming which is a big let down because I’ve LOVED crafting in any game I play. Especially for the life staffs, an example being Gortan’s Tainted Staff versus Will of the Ancients which you get from Lazarus. No hate on dungeon loot, but if you are going to spend all that time and money on crafting a legendary, it should at least be competitive.
They did a bit of 180 from the last patch where they said crafters were going to be respected for their investment. I guess only to the extent that they now have to start farming expertise from zero if they want 625 since grandfathering helps in nothing there and they can’t craft 625…
Would have been far better to grandfather expertise vs gear score so people start in equal footing but AGS only - and consistently - only sees it in themselves to alienate the player base and kill the game.
