The death knell for both sides. (Umbral Shard system and more artificial content)

i dont disagree BUT. if what im reading is right and if we get expertise bumps in mutated level dungeons then this might not be all that bad as you only need to clear laz once before getting go back in multiple times for relatively cheap which would hopefully be a faster way to gain expertise for people not maxed out yet.

IF it works the way i think it does.

its sort of lazy design but if it helps the rest of us that isnt completely maxed out then il take that small w.

if expertise doesnt bump in the mutated version then im out.

I really do hope they read this thread. It gotta get changed, it cant go live as it is right now. Invalidating alot of gameplay styles.

They did bump the loot tables for expeditions, and a lot of the expedition specific loot is best in slot already, so it’s definitely worthwhile to do expeditions if you want the best gear as it’s all bind on pickup.

The mutators etc don’t seem the ramp the difficulty that much, and is just another time gate. We’ll see with more time, but I don’t have any faith of this retaining players, or leading people to come back.

I don’t mind that there could be more options for progressing expertise and getting normal random loot (which is crap 99.99% of the time) as it’ll always be slower then doing an expedition.

Why would they make mutations easier to access than the base dungeon though? It doesn’t make sense to me. I have a feeling the mutations will not simply replace the base dungeon run for most people as they will be too difficult. The whole scoring system will also increase elitism ten fold so you better have a good group to play with or else it will be toxic as hell to deal with PUGs.

Aside from that I think most of us didn’t expect the max GS to increase until REAL content was added, meaning a new zone with new dungeons. The subsystem of mutations is a lame excuse to raise the watermark and feels like its being rolled out six months to year too soon IMO. We don’t even have a good way to manage our gear and now they want us to have specific gear just for mutations? It shows to me they have their priorities way out of whack and are out of touch with the player base.

Because they are much harder to complete. I made to mutation level 3 on PTR, it’s very hwrd. Level 10 with perfect score must be insane.

we will have to see just how much harder each level is going to be.

i was expecting doing the dungeon once as normal.
then 2 or 3 more times before bowing out which is still easer to get than 4 total of the normal orbs the old way.

if we can figure out the rest of it and get to 8 to 10 then its even better.

Bumping expertise isn’t the carrot it’s the end gear that is.

You can get 625 expertise and do 100 “challenging content” and not get the item you wish. Having 4+gates for achieving end game gear is nonsense.

Expertise bumps are random
Expertise through chests are random
They slow down bumps when you are about to cap
Dungeons have time gates
Trait rolls are random
Main attribute drops are random

This game is a mix of Diablo and a mobile gatcha game.

i think the old saying was, its the journey not the destination

problem is the journey is really really boring. up hill. in the rain. through a field of stinging nettles.

I can tell it’s hard AF, no fucking around and playing without paying attention. focus target, people really tanking, really healing, aggro management, etc… + people smart to avoid dmg. It’s a nice challenge.

I am ok with that as long as you dont REQUIRE the absolute BEST equipment and trophies (besides the final few mutations). if its a matter of practice skill and organization then im 100% ok with things being hard. if its one of those you will absolutely not win unless you have/pay for X then thats not ok.

Not sure about the BEST gear, but the RIGHT gear for the mutation. Correct dmg type and mitigation type probably will matter, top GS or not. Correct perks as well. We will see. Harder is better imo, one of the changes I disliked in winter patch was making myrk easy again. It was fine the way it was imo.

Right i was meaning making sure it wasnt impossible for people that dont have 3x major trophies, bis weapons, armor. ect

as long as you go in with some decent (580-600) expedition specific equipment, potions, coatings, stones, some minor or basic trophies and a plan you should be able to go pretty far up the levels.

thisssssss though. and remove the base dungeon keys. mutation orbs okay. but the base dungeons shouldnt have a cost to them thats so dumb. Give us an arena thats strictly pvp. BE CREATIVE dont just keep making it harder an harder for people to do anything, and fix the gottttdang desync issues

This game is completely designed by a corporate entity, there is no soul or passion in this project anymore. They are clueless, all they do is follow trends and analyze data, they have no idea what makes a game good, let alone FUN.

Yeah I have a feeling as a mainly solo player I’ll get locked out of any mutations because my gear isn’t up to par. I mean I have my voidbent but that’s it. I guess I’ll have to constantly grind my own orbs

@desubot , I just confirmed on the PTR, when you upgrade any gear to a GS higher than your expertise you have for the gear, it also upgrades the expertise.

oh sorry thats not what i meant by bumps.

i mean anyone jumping into a mutation with sub 600 gear score. so say i go in with musket 570, and i get dropped a 572 musket will i also get expertise bump 572?

That we cannot test from the PTR, since we all get leg gear gs600 to play with and start at 600 expertise to all slots, but I see no reason not to.

Well i hope so. though i also hope dyansty will increase gear score drops from 500.

seen a few replies stating its still dropping low garbo.

which is disappointing.

might have to practice LAZ/GEN instead to grind out my remaining gear score to 590/600 once the patch drops though.

I got a few legendary drops from Dyn on PTR from bosses, not from boxes.
