The death knell for both sides. (Umbral Shard system and more artificial content)

I am very casual player, I play maybe 10/20/30 hours a week depending on work so I’m not even close to getting max GS (just reached 60 last week) so it’s hard to see if these new rules are good or bad for me.

I suggested in another topic to maybe add a weapons Aptitude system after you’ve hit lvl 20 on that weapon. You can keep leveling the weapon up and every X amount you get a chance or an expertise bump. Expertise for me sound like you get better with something so for weapons the more you use it the higher your expertise gets. You should then get weapons XP from PVP kills which then could give you a way to increase your expertise.

Honestly this isn’t how any MMO works, at all, ever. That’s actually one of the absolute biggest differences between a non-MMO and MMO. Gear progression is always a major factor in an MMO.

Rewards from OPR are already terrible. There is no meaningful progression through PvP at all and it’s becoming worse.

And chest like OPR that take 30-40m of your time and time spent in que… How about you put some fucking actual upgrades and better rewards in there!!!

I’ve gotten all greens and maybe two expertise upgrades.

And BTW you owe me 8 OPR chest that decided to disappear… I’ll take that million of coin you feed to ww and Everfall every month. Because that’s fair and inclusive… Feeling the immersion… Upgrade the GS before we catch up to the neckbeards you love to feed.

You’re going to feed them millions of coin a week and the increase GS. Then the gap widens even more. When territory is already impossible to take because they influence the whole server. How? Well you feed them millions of coin a week so they pay people to throw wars etc.

Good work. How about you fix some bugs (desync) and tax revenue.

This is fucking so much better than the shit design they made. These devs are almost identical to wow devs at this point with their systems.

I feel that it wouldn’t be as bad if they added aptitude for gear that would drop gypsum boxes for that piece of gear.

They are thought through meticulously in order to get you mafks off the servers, bro we got the 40$ thank you stop playing please so we can turn the servers off.

How it feels anyway.

I know that. I’m simply articulating how I feel. I know I have to grind from 1 to “insert arbitrary max level here”, and I know I have to grind gear in order to be competitive. Do I enjoy the grind to said arbitrary max level? Nah, not really. Do I enjoy grinding up my gear? Nah, I do not. Do I enjoy PvP-ing together with my friends? Yes, I do. Simple. I accept that I have to make ‘sacrifices’ in order to have some fun.

But, I have always found it peculiar that gear progression is such a major part of MMOs. At times, I feel it is rooted in our culture; that in order to put in effort – for anything – we must be rewarded! Why can’t the activity itself be rewarding? I would not care if OPR gave me no rewards at all. The enjoyment I get from engaging with that content is enough of a ‘reward’. Whenever I do engage in PvE content in any MMO, I feel the same way: if the dungeon is suitably difficult (I am a masochist and actually find it fun to wipe 20+ times before finally defeating a boss), I find it enjoyable and that enjoyment is the reward. Loot be damned. I don’t care at all. However, that is how I feel. I realize most people think differently and that is fine

Grind this grind that and also grind it the way devs like ffs. Let the pvp players have pvp fun without pve, why are you forcing us to a certain playstyle.

The Ents are waking up AGS. You fucked the majority of the player base with tax revenue. I for one want an apology and tax refund.

Congratulations!

100% agree with you.

I will even take it a step further…

You should be able to level up by mining rocks, killing animals to gather their fur or even cutting trees.

Gathering is a profession that is often forgotten, but that can take hours and hours and hours.

They want to implement a paid shop

they make the saddest update possible. PvP is Down and PvE casual players too. all your system that you want to put need a rework or like the op said let all the path or more drop the 625 upgrade.

Y’all going on about stuff I know next to nothing about. I started with a group of six in a company at the end of September and for the last six weeks I am the only one left. So, there is no zerging or whatever to even get to the areas/items mentioned above.

Other than trial and a lot of error, there is little way in judging a company before joining it to expand on what gameplay there is. For me, the game essentially ended when I reached Shattered Mountain and realized there is no way I can do this on my own.

The game doesn’t need all of this PTR riggamarole, it needs a way for similarly situated players to group up other than trying to use chat.

Perfectly written suggestions. I truly hope AGS support forwards this to their team.

100%, and if you want to introduce umbral shards, allow us to use them on any gear!

I disagree completely and people need to start looking at the game as an integrated environment for PVP and PVE. There is no NW PVP or NW PVE, the intention is a mixed environment where players looking for optimum results will do both. If that’s not ok for you, play something else, for real. I don’t say this out of bitterness for the complaints, but this is just the reality of how NW is designed and envisoned. I don’t know if it will work, I think it will and I like the idea.

We don’t know how important GS625 will be for PVP, currently, the main difference between 599 and 600 GS is an extra perk. That extra perk can be meaningful if you have the proper gear (“right perks”), but with most perks are chance most people don’t have full gear with the optimum perks. Also, optimum perks are very situational anyway, even for PVP.

The mutation orbs locked with factions tokens to me is a good thing, will promote more open work pvp. I hope it works, I think it will.

And mutated dungeons are a nice challenge, beating M10 with gold score will be hard af, a fraction of us will be able to do it which is very motivating. You still earn a lot of umbral shards doing the lower tiers and will still be able to upgrade your GS600 to 600+.

I got one piece upgraded to GS615 doing 4 mutated dyn: 1 run on M1, 2 run on M2 and 1 run on M3. SEems like a pretty easy progression.

Dungeons will be more available with mutated orbs that we don’t need to craft, but available if you do some PVP. This is someone aligned with what was being asked, but just not “Free entry”. Seems fair to me and in line with the game intention and design (as stated above, mixed pve/pvp).

Every game the “Best possible gear” is always locked behind some very grind and hard content, why do people want NW to be different? How would that be good? Seems like people want easy things, for that they can play P2W games and buy the gear.

Too much drama, too soon, too many doomsday emissaries spreading craziness.

  • " the game will die "
  • " devs want to <> "
  • " I am being forced to <>"

All BS and hyperbolic drama queens.

The main problem atm is combat lag/sync and balance on some weapons, the changes for Umbral and Mutations are not a problem and will be good.

You can get more faction tokens than you’d ever need without flagging.

Every faction vendor has PvE missions that reward tokens.

Creating more grinds without even acknowledging core gameplay issues is the main problem. We’re barely over 3 months in and they’ve already made several dramatic changes to increase grind without adding actual content.

Crafting is a flat 25% longer across the board.
Elite monster health was disgustingly overtuned for a LONG time.
Accessing core PvE content (expeditions) is locked behind significant grinds.
Combat is a mess both performance wise and balance wise.

And this is the update we get? :triangular_flag_on_post: :triangular_flag_on_post: :triangular_flag_on_post:

NW wasnt a sandbox mmo in the first place anyway. so following WoW themedpark rails is their blueprint

Yes, but it’s faster doing the PVP missions and killing pvp flagged players.

I am not sure why do you think they don’t acknowledge, they did changes that didn’t work, so they are trying. The problem is the priority, they need at some point to stop and dedicate all effort to improve combat experience.

Gypsum was a fix to a design issue and it’s working well, the issue was the game not released this way, but that’s water under the bridge. Current cap increase, imo, is to normalize the mistakes from the time the game didn’t have the gypsum, since game community didn’t agree to already acquired gear being capped by expertise. In any case, not a hard grind and we don’t know how important GS625 will be. To my impression, won’t matter as much as people think.

It was too easy before, again, problem is that it was not the case from the start, but water under the bridge.

I disagree it is significant grinds, crafting orbs and entering expeditions were not that bad if you play in groups and now it will be easier.

My only problem with the patch is not addressing combat experience, I hope they do before going life or like stated, in the worse case, address as top priority after the patch.

If they just revert the half-second delay to all actions added in the winter patch it will already improve things a ton, and they can find another solution to the problems they were trying to address. CC/STUN locks are another big issue for combat.
