The death knell for both sides. (Umbral Shard system and more artificial content)

boring.

At this point, I’d probably suck the game’s dick if the leads came out and explained what the fuck their thought process was and is-- starting from why they thought this was ready for release.

‘Water under the bridge’ to you is ‘Another two weeks, of straight grinding, presuming I don’t work a full work week, any overtime whatsoever, and have no obligations, so that I can catch up to the people who no-lifed something like logging.’

Because my gathering takes longer, I’ll be taking longer to advance through my tiers, too. Guess I’ll go fuck myself on getting high level crafting because despite the pace I was taking before being acceptable, they didn’t want people hitting max crafting or something so instead of adding a grind for the no-lifers to no-life into, they just insulate them at the top. Then I’ll have to craft more of whatever I’m crafting, which I almost patently guarantee will be nothing of even remote use to me besides a quick salvage for parts I can use to make more of them. All of this so I can catch up to players they’re constantly finding ways to insulate without ever admitting that some things are just fucking outside of their power, like making people who spend 9 hours a day in the game slow down. They can’t. Their efforts to do so, instead of harming those players, basically exclusively damage people who can’t shove time into the game like it’s a second or third job.

While i get we should move on since they arent going to change it back… the bridge is still on fire and a lot of people havent crossed.

You’re looking at 10+ endgame portals, (way more if you do smaller ones), 200 stonecutting, and running elite zones, as well as considerable mote farming. I also personally use a full stonecutter set in the hopes that luck cuts down on the grind.

To craft a single 30-40 minute experience that isn’t even challenging.

Thankfully you can buy most the materials, but also keep in mind the keys and some of the ingredients are BoP.

It takes longer to get into the desired content than it does to play through it. That’s not good design.

ngl i haven’t really been paying attention when grabbing portals but im sitting on like 9 corrupted loadstones just playing the game. catching the myrk portals and any 35 or less portals in the open while im farming.

how many corrupted loadstones are expected?

I’m at work atm but I believe it’s 2 per genesis and 3 per laz.

mmmm mabye i should keep an eye on the rates of corruption drops since that didnt seem that bad.

though it seems like lf portal runs are going to get popular real quick.

you still get the same numbers from lower leveled portals though right?

gotta figure out how many on average will be needed per week to get all orbs ready to go.

Lower level portals are less likely to drop shards, and when they do drop will probably only be the lowest tier, which means you’d need 20 drops to guarantee a loadstone.

The bonus of higher level portals is you can get higher tier drops and multiple drops per portal, i.e. 1 sliver and 1 shard off a single portal. A lot of the lower level small portals didn’t drop anything but a green piece of gear when my buddy and I were testing their efficacy.

i see.

well this is going to be intresting/suck since it seems like its going to bite into my other runs.

You don’t need 200 stonecutting, the mat you need that is produced by 200 stonecutting is tradable. Of the 5 players joining the expedition, only one needs to be 150 stonecutting since the orb is not tradable, that’s all. Working in a group it’s easy to obtain everything or group fund to buy all or some mats, the only hard gateway is portal corrupted mats. The mutated expeditions will not require crafted orbs to enter, those will be obtained with faction tokens, to my opinion, are even easier to grab and will promote other content.

The only thing I can agree with is that this is not friendly for solo players, but most MMOs are not and expeditions are group content anyway.

2 for Genesis, 3 for Lazarus. that’s the only hard gateway imo. mutated expeditions don’t require crafted orbs, they use a different orb obtained from the faction vendor with faction tokens.

btw you only need 1 mutation orbs to attempt 10 more runs in a dungeon right? i think thats what i read earlier.

do you get expertise bumps per each level?

Bore.

I don’t know yet if 1 orb is enough, I am under the impression you get your mutated orb back if you finish with the gold (perfect) score only, but I did need to play more PTR to be sure. Hopefully, someone already confirmed that and can reply to us.

In any case, 10k faction tokens are not hard to get doing some PVP.

I didn’t get any expertise bump, but I was able to upgrade gear to GS614 with 4 mutated runs (1 on lvl 1, 2 on lvl 2 and 1 on lvl 3). I was not able to progress further than lvl 3, Dyn boss was 1 shooting our tank. It will be a nice challenge to beat lvl 10 with a perfect score.

yeah im not worried about the mutation orb at all 10k +1k is nothing.

the main orb however is something.

but you don’t need the main orb for each run, only once per week to unlock the weekly mutated version.

this isnt an actual GS upgrade. This is temporary, they have no new content in the works so they’re doing this because they need people to grind even more to keep player count up. Expect new gs cap with major content to be 700 possibly. Making this stuff worthless unless u want to keep ur rly good 625 gear to 700

Gathering skills should also give drops all the way to 625.
Especially as loot drop in fishing chests.

Theres not two sides of the playerbase. There is one playerbase. Almost everybody plays both PvE and PvP.
