The Endgame #3 Feedback is a massive win and shows AGS is learning

I have to say, I am impressed. I have been ‘somewhat’ critical of AGS’s decisions, but that was a good dev post. They nailed the major issues people had with expertise and even seemed to understand what people found upsetting about those issues.

While I don’t know how they thought the original implementation was a good idea, the most important thing is for them to listen to feedback and be willing to make changes. And they they did, so no reason to hold the original plan against them.

The crafting one I was expecting because it was by far the most inflammatory part. But the exempting of quest rewards and faction gear for people who want to avoid the expertise system was a nice touch. Lots of welcome changes in there.

Devs often make concessions after a backlash. But there is a difference between changes made to appease an angry mob, and changes made because they listened and understood the angry mob. The dev post reads like the latter. And so I say, the design team deserves a nice stout winter ale and a hearty clap on the back.

It is funny how people are so entitled to get apologies for a game. I can get behind that some corporate companies do shaddy stuff and need to be put on spotlight but this is not the case. It is a 30 usd game really…

They announced they wanted to change something and were waiting for feedbacks. We did then they saw that they were wrong, they changed. Cass closed. It didnt sffect you in anything at all because it is not live… why apologies then ??? Did Ags hurt your feeling ? Lol.

Even if they did not change anything, noone owes you anything. You agreed on terms and conditions when buying the game and if you dont like the game then stop playing it. Simple. It is the best thing you can do to make them realize their mistakes.

Dont get me wrong, i am glad the changes were done but There is really no apologies needed. If they decide to make the game worst, I would just quit the game and check competition. they are already getting hurt the most with this.

Credit where credit’s due.

With this latest development, so I guess my journey to Aeternum continues…

hey i think you are missdirecting here loooool

Ah sorry was not toward you but the guy you replied to. Kinda as the same thread haha

Its like they read every single complaint I posted on here or Reddit. Well see how it goes, but this at least gives me incentive to play, especially in 2022. The complaints were pretty widespread too but we should just enjoy the wins when we get them.

Not the datamine. You could go on PTR and see the costs.

This is a very good solution overall.

  • Existing players are not reverted
  • Crafters (old and new) can always craft better gear for themselves instead of farming
  • Everyone now has a clearer path of progress
  • New players have a number of high-level quest drops they can use, a wider variety of options to increase their expertise and can also get a little help from crafters or trade post gear to help them in the meantime.
  • All players can focus leveling expertise when new weapons come out, which will take about 5 weeks to max it out

yeah, according to the Dev updates based on feedback

“When these changes are implemented, Gear Score scaling will only apply to items sold or traded after that patch. So any items obtained prior to this patch will not be impacted or reduced in any way.”

from:

you can also craft an item at full power, or buy an item at full power and split the difference.

I still think the casual time gating and time to progress could be tuned up a bit, but its a workable system by having quest, faction and crafted items as mitigation

Thank you jesus!

at casual pace its closer to 6-12 months, 3 months would require 4ish dailies a day, every day.

since most of these methods are pretty time consuming, its basically midhardcore 2-4 hours a day every day.

I think they need to find a way to lower the time for the 1-2 hour players, and especially the weekend warriors(who are hit the hardest)

but at least they can quest/craft/faction, so they aren’t totally gimp for 6 months

The ‘split the difference’ change should really help the weekend warriors as well. They can buy gear and still have it be fairly effective. Enough to keep them competitive at least.

Scaling wasnt till 2022 anyway. Next time maybe read the Patch Notes and understand what you are reading before you start complaining.

I think people misunderstand the 35 average bump. That is on average how many bumps per item you will need to reach 600gs. So it’s a month per weapon and most people will probably only get 3 orbs a day

Last feedback is lose, Amazon effectively cancelled Expertise system at all. So, many ppl will have less goals in this game.

They said they were wrong. For some forum posters here, that is bigger than an apology.

I was VERY happy to read that update. It gave me hope.

My 4x200 crafts won’t be useless and all my good items will remain good. Now if only we could balance all these new perks and cut some of them by 75% of the value and we’re headed in the right direction.

Keep it up.

And please diminish some of those new perks. That’s just insanity waiting to happen.

Thanks for listening to the expertise feedback and making that change in time.

7days? Going to have to explain that one to me lol

We all knew that. The fact that it was happening retroactively was the issue

your comparing money to the time investment while i understand and agree, my point is that most people who took the time to max GS prior to this patch had to PvE ALOT. these guys will never have to deal with that. More over like i said you wont find those players complaining nearly as much as these guys did.
