The entry point for PvP in this game is ridiculously insane. Its about time the faction armor becomes more usefull

The entry point for PvP in this game is ridiculously insane. Its impossible to gear up without spending lots of gold. For newer players and players looking to reroll, getting new gear is not a easy thing to come by. We need higher tiers of the faction armor as some baseline for your gear.

For PvP you are nearly required to have resilient on your gear and the economy in this game is so bad and inflated that even 2 perk items is out of reach for many players. It is not possible to farm for gear pieces at all except for the few good named items you can get from expeditions, which is PvE content by the way. I am a light bruiser looking to get a heavy set, and it literally costs 300k+ gold for resilient+ability perk on all pieces, meanwhile I have currently 15k gold. What am I supposed to do? Buy gold?

You can do 500+ OPR and never get a full set of gear for any role at all, I have yet to get a single item I use for any build.

On release the faction armor was really good and something everyone could get. Why is it still stuck at 525 gearscore? You cannot enter a OPR with 525 gearscore and have fun. The upcoming arena update and its rewards will be a great addition to the game, but for anyone that doesnt have proper gear, they wont have a good time when they meet people in full 625 PvP gear.

The new upcoming update can actually bring a decent amount of players back to the game, but for many I know for a fact that they will meet a brick wall as soon as they realize they still have to grind their expertise and when they check the current economy and see their 10k gold is enough for some regen pots then they will quit.

Its really about time there is some catchup mechanics in this game. The whole expertise grind can be scrapped. Levling to level 60, levling the weapons to max rank and getting your gear should be more than enough to start enjoying the game isntead of having some useless timegated grind limiting you. Faction gear should be a baseline and catchup mechanic for both newer players, returning players and players wanting to experiment with other builds. 590/600gs with resillient+a decent pvp perk would make anyone able to jump into pvp.

And having nearly all gear be complete RNG with no way to target good PvP gear needs to be fixed somehow. The arena pvp rewards will be nice once people get them, but for anyone that doesnt already have decent PvP gear, they wont have a fun time in Arenas.

There is so much fun to be had with experimeting with different builds, yet its nearly impossible to do so because gear is so overpriced that justifying spending gold on a Offspec is really hard to do, not to mention having to farm PvE mutations just for the gear to be useable.

The faction armor even looks so cool, please make it relevant again.

I think faction gear being 590 would be totally fair :+1: that would be viable for entry into PvP.

I agree that 520’s too low. 580 - given that faction gear is historically decent armor - might be the right place to put it.

It’s not just the entry to pvp.

Gearing is absolutely scuffed. The drops are garbage nearly all the time. There are level 60 mobs in the open world that do more damage, and have more hp than most level 66 expedition mobs, but have drops so bad you wouldn’t even want to wear them to kill the mob that dropped them.

The crafting is ultra bad, first get three max trophies, and three house, the gear set, grind silly amounts of mats, to level the skill to 200, trashing everything cause it will all be trash. Then use stupid amounts of mats to gamble at RNG poop gear, but only if you have a maxed crafting station, and can bribe the town owner to have the needed crafting buff.

Now they are going to add pvp only perks, making things infinitely worse. If anything they need to remove a bunch of perks, and make all perks useable in all parts of the game. Don’t forget the food…

Worst gearing ever. Did I mention some of the upcoming changes also completely trash certain peoples builds they have worked months on?

While 580 would be better than 520, I still think for people to actually have any use of it, it needs to be at 590 where you can then upgrade it futher. The faction armor even looks so good, its such a shame we cant use it any more

Well, ok 590 - unless you’re saying it should go legendary and pop a 3rd perk at 600 because then I would stop agreeing with you.

On the other hand, it would cause some pain to crafters who would lose much of their outlet for failed god rolls.

As a start I would just be very happy with 590 that can go to 625 with 2 perks. But down the line, for the health of this game, I really think how you get gear has to be reworked somehow, especially for PvP.

Gearing is as good as pay2win in this game. I have 1,5k hours in this game and my only good legendaries are the few named items from expiditions. Meanwhile people can have 100 hours and rock full 3 perk legendaries with god rolls just due to buying gold.

In PvP everyone should have a fairly equal playing ground for it to be competetive, and in New World its so incredible far from being fair and competetive. PvP would feel so much fairer if the PvP gear progression was similiar to how it is in WoW.

Crafting in New World is a cool system, but it is one of the reasons bots, gold selling and gold buying is so common, as crafting is the main source of gear, and good 3 perk items are incredible rare.

590 is too high, no one would bother crafting pvp gear then because refreshing resilient is all you need for pvp.

You would still need ability perks for your build. But I personally think crafting is one of the reasons New World is so frustrating to play. Its impossible to target gear pieces for PvP except for spending gold on the auction house.

When Arena hits, I could win 1000 arena matches, and someone who just buys gold will still have better gear than me…

depends. you could assume that the faction gear would be properly adjusted so that even with resil its only just good enough.

you lose out on your weapon skills, and other perks as well as any specialty perks like shirking stuff.

you wont really doo that great with a piece that just has refreshing and resil.

if it gets a 3rd perk if you upgrade it then chances are it will be something worthless like invigorate.

its basicly just another flavor of voidbent which is only a stepping stone to pvp.

Nahhh some weapon perks are a must have and change your build completely. Things like shirking fort are very powerful too.

I got 2 friends who briefly tried out NW during the first week after release.

They love the idea of the 3v3 arena, but i can’t convince them to come back because they have to grind for several hundred hrs before they can have fun in PvP in this game.

They are both somewhat casual, and if you only play 2-3 hrs every second day, then it takes more than a month before your gear is decent enough to have just a little fun in PvP.
(This needs to be fixed. There are so many potential players out there, that just can’t be bothered about a mindless loooong grind, just to be allowed to have fun and play properly)

Faction gear could be GS 590, but only be “purple”, meaning that end-game crafting could still be important, if the RNG was fixed.

This way you both welcome new/returning players + You “fix” the crafting aspect and let everyone have more fun than now.
It would also help fixing the economy!

They really need to do this, make it 590 so everyone can updates it all the way to 625 if they want to do so.
It’s going to make PvP easier for newcomers but also even old fellas like us would be able to try different builds without wasting our hard earned money on it.

the only perk you need to get started in pvp is resilient and 1 perk resilient is dirt cheap

honestly just make it 600 but purple.

big reason being expertise. the gear wont be neutered by expertise, gives you the 500 total attribute points.

its up to the player after that point to grind out over time and upgrade their crap but in the meantime they can at least do stuff.

Some ideas here are very good. Adding a new tier for faction gear at 580/590 would be nice for ppl who wanna do only pvp with the new currency and new players. Then pvp scaling wouldnt be so demanded and you dont make the grinder folks angry.

Then make pvp activities cross server in the same continent, make a simple matchmaking system (x premades x team/x class x team) and equalize pvp only in the brackets of lvl 10-59, then add pvp modes we have like opr and next arenas with xp and items as reward so ppl can level up doing pvp.

Crafting should let you craft 2 perks + stat perk with 100% chance and the 3rd perk will be full RNG. This would fix a lot of the problems crafters have and still will be challenging to get 3 perks bis items.

Yes, this is so true! I bet alot of old players are curious about 3v3 arenas and considering coming back. But, now they would have to grind expertise to 600 before they are viable and can have real fun. That might be a barricade, that is overwhelming for a lot of players. I think some catchup for new and returning players would be healthy for the game.

Faction gear should be at least 590 gs, or I will personally consider it useless.

to really get it the same as pve all they need to do is make rubies 2 per day but 1 per each gypsum cast, add 2 pearl gypsum for arenas per day and also be 1 per casts.

that actually evens out daily gypsum to match pve dungeon and arena.

is it fair? does it matter people will do what they are doing because they want to do it. it also gives more option for people to grind dailies and move on with their day.
